Luminesce October 24, 2020 Share October 24, 2020 (edited) Yeah those aren't sandwiches. If they're sandwiches, so is toast with jelly. The definition of sandwich specifies two pieces of bread, but the OTHER definition of sandwich as a verb literally means to put something between two other things. So again, if you folded one piece of bread over something, an argument could be made that it's still effectively a sandwich despite not having two pieces. But by all definitions of sandwich, one piece of bread with stuff on it isn't one. Edited October 24, 2020 by Luminesce Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Breloomancer October 24, 2020 Share October 24, 2020 but why is that definition more right than any other definition? I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much. Luminesce October 24, 2020 Share October 24, 2020 Well, all definitions I see specify two pieces of bread, except Webster which also includes folded bread, which seems fair enough. I went to Wikipedia because I saw something about how in Australia and the UK "sandwich" more (and less) specifically refers to anything made with sliced bread, but LOL I got this instead https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandwich#Language Quote In the US, a court in Boston, Massachusetts, ruled in 2006 that a sandwich includes at least two slices of bread and "under this definition, this court finds that the term 'sandwich' is not commonly understood to include burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, which are typically made with a single tortilla and stuffed with a choice filling of meat, rice, and beans." The issue stemmed from the question of whether a restaurant that sold burritos could move into a shopping centre where another restaurant had a no-compete clause in its lease prohibiting other "sandwich" shops. Breloomancer October 24, 2020 Share October 24, 2020 but clearly your definition is different from Ashanti's definition, so no, not all definitions are like that I have a tulpa named Miela who I love very much.
