I know three major things will happen should tulpa hit the mainstream.

(1) Anti psychotics will sell like candy.

(2) X has studied with the Tibetan monks so buy his amazing e-book a 200 dollar value only 99 jew golds!

(2) Womens digest articles about "Is your man cheating on you with his tulpa? Find out on page 32!"

Oh, and of course The U.S. government will try and use it as a weapon. Do you really want a 304th tulpa platoon? Do you really want to see soldiers get a purple brain metal after their tulpas get killed? I sure as hell don't.

Let's focus on the matter at hand, shall we?

If we really were in this for the science and the discovery and the hope of writing papers and getting this stuff known, we wouldn't care about this going mainstream and getting overtaken with spam and marketing sites and non-believers.

You have viagra spam emails and "get yourself scanned today!" spam about already documented heart conditions or disorders. This stuff is always going to happen.

We could be about mind reading and have it proved 100% legitimately, but guess what, there are always going to be people who won't accept it, people who will, and people who will try to make a quick buck out of it.

I say we should stop trying to prove tulpae in a way that we can still maintain control of how the field researches it, and just try to prove them, or unveil them to the world when it's ready. There are always going to be shit throwers and scam artists, so ignore those people and focus on how the majority sees tupperware.

This, a 1000 times this.

Perhaps, similarly to what Inception did for lucid dreaming, there might be a movie made about friendly (and maybe less friendly) tulpae. The subject would be likewise presented in a highly actionized, sensationalized and unrealistic light, of course, but it'd still be something. And it would help make tulpae a bit more mainstream while making people associate it not with neckbeard waifu-seeking nerds, but rather with sexy action movie actors.

...That, or it might make them more skeptical as well.

Before:

"I have a tulpa..."

"Interesting. What's that? Is that infectious?"

After:

"I have a tulpa..."

"Nonsense, it's a fictional movie thing. What, do you have Snape as your husbando on the astral plane, as well? Not listening to you, goodbye."

Or we can not try to shove it down the publics' throats and avoid all of those problems. To reference lucid dreaming again, it received massive amounts of funding for research during the big "metaphysical" testing surge of the 70s and 80s. Back then, lucid dreaming was just barely getting in with the New Age crowd, and barely more credible than tulpae are today. Instead of getting research and funding through popularity, we can get it through being credible and organized. Clean up the site and guides, get credible articles written and possibly published, and try to maintain a civil and rational community, and we'll be able to achieve much more than if we toss it out to the public like raw meat to rabid dogs.

He/She was just agreeing with me that we shouldn't be afraid to unveil tuppers to the world in fear of how the world will perceive it. There will always be people who won't understand and those who misunderstand. We just need to do this right, not just do it as fast as possible or as slow as possible.

Get papers written, clean up this place, buff our shoes and straighten our ties. Have something people can actually look at and believe in.

I think I'm right in saying no one here thinks we can show off this concept. I hope no one here wants to. In that case we can only show the concept to the world the way we want to- where it's not misunderstood by them, or us.

Speaking as a "crazy new age cultist", someone who has hung out ( in person, not on the internet) with people who believe in the metaphysical view of tulpa creation, and who have known about it for years, the fact that this site even exists is proof that Tulpas will become more mainstream. The fact that there are almost 2000 members registered further proves that fact. And, even though certain members of this board seem to not want it, there is diversity on this board of members..And not everyone is all about science, or the kind of people some of you would want around if you wanted the scientific community to take you seriously..Some of these people are probably only here because this is the only tulpa board they know of, but I bet eventually some members will decide to create their own boards, and there will be multiple communities of people who create tulpas. And, if that happens, eventually people who are more mainsteam are going to hear about tulpa creation..So, yeah, it is going to happen, just maybe not in the way people here might want.

And, personally, if the mainstream media portrays it in a bad light, or people in the scientific community doesn't take it seriously, I couldn't give a rats ass. I am into a lot of stuff certain groups have a problem with anyway, so I have learned not to give a fuck what other people think.

^^^ This, partly.

It's one thing to not give a fuck and do what you want, it doesn't matter what everyone thinks, but then again it does when some, if not most of us want this to be a documented, scientific phenomenon. It's all very well and good to just sit back and not give a damn (I would join you) but it's not going to help the community at all.

IF we try hard enough and do this right, then we can sit back and not give a shit and just force.
