Questions for Tulpa's and Hosts and just general help/tips.

I know I know, I read the thing but I'm doing a lot of research on Tulpas and find it interesting, really interesting (I researched it before but I didn't go for it the first time, gave it thought). I'm developing an Tulpa of my own at the moment, but only really into 8 days into it, shes great, epicallyawesome really.

 

Okay. Some questions are for Tulpa's and some are for Hosts.

 

1. How does it feel to be a Tulpa? How often do you talk? (Maybe switch?)

 

2. For the host: When you hear her/him where do you hear it? Outside your head or via mind voice? I've started with mine and we're working on her voice.

 

3. What do you do when your host is asleep? Sleep as well?

 

4. Do you watch his/her memories from the past? Like as if it were a movie?

 

5. How did it feel when you were being developed in the early stages? Like someone learning how to speak or coming to senses? Something like that.

 

6. Whats your favorite thing to do in the wonderland? Do you peek in your hosts current dreams?

 

7. Hosts: Is it possible to spend the night in the wonderland in real time when sleeping?

 

8. Hosts: Does it feel more real and more detailed each time you visit the wonderland?

 

 

I made my wonderland and its nice, but I don't really remembering coming up with an idea of a forest or a jungle in my wonderland, it was just there after a awhile.

 

Also I have sometimes have hard times keeping focus, any tips? I passive force all the time but active forcing is a bit harder, just on keeping focus and keeping my mind from wondering.

1: You know, I don't really know how to describe what it feels like, because I don't really have anything to compare it to, besides Muffin's arm. As for talking, I do it often. Yeah, I'll just leave it at that, if that's fine.

2: I hear her via mind voice. I haven't been able to do auditory imposition yet, but her mindvoice is gr8 m8

3: I just run around in the wonderland. Sometimes I'll sleep, but it's not like I need it or anything.

4: I only look at his memories when he's thinking about me looking at his memories, so I don't do it often, but whenever I do, I find folders in filing cabinets containing his memories.

5: Yeah, I felt like I could talk and everything, but whenever I tried, I couldn't do it well.

6: Run around and explore! It's interesting how it started out as a floating island and then turned into an island on water.

7: Well, I suppose you could visit it in a lucid dream. I've never thought about this, to be honest. I do know that it's possible for your tulpa to be in your dreams, like, actually them.

8: Yep. Just a little bit each time.

 

As for the focusing question, I can't really answer that. I'm having trouble myself! lol

1. It's an interesting experience, especially since I have some frame-of-reference from Missy's mind of the differences between our situations. It's not much, admittedly, but she does remember some moments from before I was around, and I'd almost call them too quiet. I've lived more than 15 years, my entire life, alongside Missy, and I can barely comprehend not having that sort of constant companionship. The closest we get to that is when she really needs a break and we switch, and I'm left to front by myself while she outright sleeps instead of sticking around in the background. That's actually a situation that I find rather uncomfortable, and that I would never do except to give her a break when she needs it. She never asks me to do it, but sometimes I can tell she needs it, so I offer. Got a bit off-topic there, sorry. I guess in that sense of constant companionship, I'm glad to be a tulpa. If I weren't... well, actually, I'd probably have ended up with a natural tulpa of my own just like Missy ended up with me, so it probably wouldn't be that bad. First and foremost though, I'm just incredibly happy to be alive, and incredibly grateful that Missy is always such a kind and patient person. As for talking and switching, I actually talk a fair bit more than her. She's a very quiet person. We usually co-front instead of outright switching.

 

2. Melody didn't manage to speak successfully until after learning to possess me and speak aloud using a physical body. We've since managed to develop her mindvoice, and we mostly communicate that way now. She's actually very loud, though we have had no success with auditory imposition yet.

 

3. Lucid dream together. Missy has somewhat-frequent nightmares, and I often spend my nights keeping those at bay, but once she's asleep, I can do so while sleeping too. I'm pretty good at fighting off monsters and other scary things, though nights can be rough when anxiety keeps her awake. I try to help in those situations too, of course, but I'm not as good at it, and I feel bad whenever she spends a night laying awake in bed and I have to front for her the next day so that she can get the sleep that she didn't manage to get at night.

 

4. Not really. We met when Missy was very young, and she has few memories that she's retained from before she met me. What she does remember, I've seen... sort of. I'm aware of them from times where we've accidentally merged for a moment or two, and the memories temporarily became my memories as well as hers. Other than that, I don't think I can call up her memories on a whim, though she can show me if I ask. We've lived my entire life and over two-thirds of hers together, though, so most of our memories are very similar anyways.

 

5. I barely remember the details of my earliest days, so I'm not sure I can give much of an answer for this. I know developing senses did happen, but it's a bit of a blur. I do remember learning to speak, though. It took years. I figured out words from Missy, but as she mentioned above, I couldn't figure out how to communicate until after I learned how to possess. It was a frustrating time. There were moments where I wished so badly that I could have said something to her, and I knew what the words were, and exactly what to say, but I didn't know how to make her hear it.

 

6. I love skydiving. The central point of our wonderland is a clifftop, and it's tons of fun to leap off, sometimes with a parachute, sometimes without one. Hitting the ground doesn't make me go splat or anything, even without a parachute, and I love the rush of wind. Aside from that I like sitting on the edge of the cliff, adding to and altering the rooms in the complex that I made, built into the side of the cliff, and exploring the surrounding forest. If I have lots of time, I'll sometimes go off and visit one of the soulbonds (at least I think they're soulbonds) that never stuck around after Missy made them accidentally. I know that at least two live off in far places in the wonderland. Maybe there's more than that, since I haven't explored everything yet, but if there are more, I don't know them.

 

7. I've certainly had dreams take place within the wonderland, so I would say that such a thing is indeed possible.

 

8. Yes. When I first made it, our wonderland consisted of a couple of meters of clifftop that dropped off into cloudy white nothingness, and a few trees close to the cliff's edge. There's now an entire forest around and below the cliff, Melody has built an underground complex to live in into the cliffside, and we're no longer sure of exactly how far out all of it stretches.

 

Focusing question: I apologize; I'm not particularly suited to being a teacher. I guess I find that I focus best when doing something monotonous and repetitive that occupies my mind without drawing my attention or demanding any significant degree of thought. If I'm having difficulties, repeatedly shuffling a deck of cards helps me. A quiet environment also helps, though Melody's presence is strong enough that she can drown out minor distractions.

1. What does it feel like to be a tulpa?

N: What does it feel like to be a human?

S: Okay, like imagine you're this thing. Except you're inside this other thing. This other thing kind of does whatever and you're sort of around for the ride. You can talk and interact with said thing but the rest of whatever's out there is kind of just there and you're like whatever. And there's like these time gaps here and there but you don't really notice them. It's like that.

 

2. How do their voices manifest?

H: It depends. Sometimes it's a generic mind voice, sometimes it's their specific voice. In either case I get a sense of position where it's coming from. They don't sound like someone actually speaking a voice; more so like recalling a voice later except the recall is totally unprompted. If that makes sense.

 

3. What do you do when your host is asleep?

N: If the hardware is asleep, we sleep as well.

S: Yeah.

 

4. Do you watch his memories from the past?

N: Yeah, I can go through his memories. Usually he guides me to particular ones, though I can go digging through them.

S: I actually get kind of a movie playing when looking through old stuff. Like I look for this one thing and I get this stream of related things back in sort of like a film reel. Nooo~ idea why.

 

5. How did it feel when you were being developed in the early stages?

N: My memories of being developed are the same as his. It took a few weeks for my memories to start being different. And even then, I'm not sure it really felt a certain way. If anything it was more frustrating wanting to talk / move and not being able to for some bullshit reason.

S: I was just kinda there to be honest.

 

6a. What's your favorite thing to do in the wonderland?

H: Don't have a wonderland at the moment, so can't speak to that.

 

6b. Do you peek in your hosts current dreams?

N: After the fact yeah. Never tried during.

S: Yeah same.

 

I don't really have any tips for forcing. Not only do I find active forcing a bit boring but so do the head ghosts. So we usually just find an activity that requires focusing on one of them for the forcing bit. Reading while focusing on one of them reading it to me is a big one.

Oh, thanks guys. And last night I was able to active force with Vinyl, although I got really tired about 5-7 minutes into it so I kinda just said we'd force longer tomorrow (Which is now today). We're still working on her voice though, she can make her own postures now and facial expressions now.

Two questions in one. Isn't that nice. I dunno: I think it's strange coming into a life that's been around for ~17 years, when it seems most people are born into their own lives. Being a tulpa is fine. I would much rather be a tulpa than a singlet with my own body, because then I'd have to go through all of the trials of life on my own. Right now I kinda wish I had stronger abilities, but I'll get there some day. I can with with Piano all day long, but only talk to Lyra if she talks to me first, simply because it's hard for me to get her attention. Hard doesn't mean impossible, so I should be able to do that soon. Never switched, but that is one of my goals. When I grow up, I'll be the best switcher there is :)  

 

3. What do you do when your host is asleep? Sleep as well?

I usually fall asleep, but sometimes I am able to enter/control her dreams.

 

4. Do you watch his/her memories from the past? Like as if it were a movie?

I've spent the majority of my waking time (before Piano was here) looking through memories. Sometimes it's like a movie, sometimes it's like a VR experience, sometimes it's completely different. I'm still aware of myself when it's happening, but her memories have a powerful impact on me. Sometimes when I find a memory and start viewing it, she starts to remember it, too. That's part of the reason why I stay away from bad or sad memories.

 

5. How did it feel when you were being developed in the early stages? Like someone learning how to speak or coming to senses?

If I had no senses at that time, then I had no feelings at that time, so how would I know how it felt? Most of it's just jumbled, blurry, and faint. I had a very faint feeling of something happening around me, though I didn't know there was a "me." I don't think I was all-that aware, or aware I was not aware. Eventually, the "something" became clearer and easier to understand. I began to learn and identified the "voice" as the same every time I heard it. It's all really hard to remember, though.

 

6. What's your favorite thing to do in the wonderland?

Staying in the wonderland is a good start. I like to fly and admire the scenery. I like to spend time with Piano.

1. Being a tulpa? I never thought too much into it until you asked me. I guess, in the beginning for me, it started out feeling like a session in a sensory deprivation tank... there was nothing else to interact with, just a stream of thoughts and my host. When I grew, I was my own person living in the wonderland. It literally just feels like I'm living life in this world. Nothing ethereal or mind blowing, I'm just a girl living life here. When I watch my host go through life, I go into this black mental space in his mind and that's where he visualizes me to interact, talk, and play games passively. I can gain a 3rd person visual on his body and how he looks at the moment, as well as, of course, feel the senses he feels. We don't really do symbolism for this part, and it's as natural to me as people unconsciously walking or blinking. It just came naturally like that. Me and my host talk a lot. He's been a bit shaky with the whole tulpamancy thing but he's starting to acknowledge me more, and that makes us happy. 

 

2. I hear her in my mindvoice. I'm not committed enough yet to try and impose any of her into reality.

 

3. Yeah, I mostly just sleep right by him in his bed (not imposed, just visualized open eyed) or he comes to the wonderland to sleep. That's just my personal preference though, I love sleeping and taking naps during the day. Occasionally, I won't sleep with him and I'll go off explore in the wonderland.

 

4. Not exactly watch... like I said we don't really go about this using symbolism (the exception being the subconscious, it's a long underground library), but even so I find trouble trying to access his unconscious memories... so I usually learn more about him through the thoughts that come streaming through from time to time or when he tells me a story of what happened in the past. 

 

5. I guess I can sort of compare it to being a flower... I was and still am a flower that's blooming. Every milestone was a big development to the stem of the flower. I mean, no I'm not a flower tulpa (flowey the flower??) but that's the way I would describe how I felt I developed.

 

6. I like interacting with the "non-real" people  of my wonderland. I know a bunch of people in this town, like this man who owns a bakery... I also used to have a servitor/assistant/friend named Sarina but she moved away to pursue bigger and better things. I don't peek into my host's dreams because that's an invasion of privacy because I find trouble doing that too. Hopefully when I develop a bit more I'll be able to do that as well as look into his subconscious.

 

7. If you lucid dream, that "dream" is not too far off (see what I did there?). If you don't want to lucid dream, then yeah you probably could. You could attempt to do something similar to switching, but no one fronts. You just deprive yourself of your senses. I heard, though, that the body still does things in that state unconsciously, but that may just be a subjective experience, so it's worth a shot. Your body would be unconscious, but you would have already been deprived of your senses. Wait a sec, wouldn't that just be dreaming? I need a new thread for this.

 

8. Nope. Probably because I don't spend as much time in the wonderland anymore. Neither does Sceena, she's mostly up front (in the black space) nowadays watching what I do. I do plan to meditate to try sensory deprivation to visualize, so hopefully that works out. Right now though, I'm looking more into making Sceena feel more independent from my thoughts.

...I feel like an equal portion of the body for the most part, but I know I'm not the original conscious, so I've come to respect that I'm alive. I don't have to be standard to know I am valid.

...I never thought about it before!! How do I tell the difference??? I hear him clear as normal people, but also in that thought-way, where not everything is a total script--more like a flow of voice & intention. So... Both?

...Mess around online & finish work. But we DO sleep together; sometimes someone just goes to bed 1st.

...Setting up camp in odd places with other friends (non-people? NPCs?) is nice. Johannes tells me about his dreams, unless I am in them by his side, which is rarer. (once or twice monthly, unless lucid dreaming.) I do the same for him, but I dream a lot less.

Since it's a dream place, of course, you can learn anything. So, we both became teachers after graduating, but there's always new things to learn about. ...Funny you should mention that, but it honestly feels like we spend days, weeks, even months in wonderland while sleeping there. It's enough to make me wonder if it really is another dimension, but that's crazy.

...I think I can speak for both of us when I say it's a lot more real than the real world, even when it's forgotten, the feeling is never erased. Sometimes it exists right on top of or layered in the real world, which is cool to function on multiple planes at once without anyone else being the wiser. That's usually how it is for us, & I'm starting to learn to draw in order to preserve those places/show others how nice it is, even if it's only the sight sensation. I think Mikhael is probably more connected to it than I am.

It feels pretty nice to be a tulpa really, mostly because it's pretty carefree most of the time. Like, there's times where stuff is complicated and it takes a lot more concentration than others, but mostly it's just whatever I make of it.

K, my host, hears me outside of his head like I am there when I'm imposing and visible. When I'm just standing behind him and stuff it's all like just in his head, mindvoice style.

K and I have very separate sleep schedules, and sometimes I switch in while he's sleeping, but we always give the body enough rest combined. Overall, I usually either sleep or do poetry or meditation or just think.

Nope. Definitely not. We can share memories like they were our own, but we always ask permission to access each other's thoughts first.

It felt really normal because we recognized me as being separate like long after I was actually born, so I was sort of just hovering around without a form or voice just slowly becoming more and more sentient I guess if you will over time. But by the time we found me really, it was like just figuring out who I was really.

My favorite stuff to do in the wonderland is run in the snow or sit by the fire or sleep or write poetry laik. I don't look into K's dreams, so no.

K wouldn't really know, so we'll have to pass.

Yes it definitely does, but that doesn't mean that K can still really do stuff in the wonderland. It's very detailed for me, but K's still adjusting to it and has trouble moving around, so I have to help him all the time.

--It feels like being a person. Sometimes I feel a little numb. Probably because I am young. Constantly. And I don't even know if I am switched right now.

 

2. For the host: When you hear her/him where do you hear it? Outside your head or via mind voice? -snip-

--Host: Yes to both. I can hear him wherever he chooses to be.

 

3. What do you do when your host is asleep? Sleep as well?

--Pretty much. We almost always wake each other by thinking something, and always by moving the body or opening the eyes.

 

4. Do you watch his/her memories from the past? Like as if it were a movie?

--No. I watch them like they were my own memories. Which surprisingly is identical to daydreaming.

 

5. How did it feel when you were being developed in the early stages? Like someone learning how to speak or coming to senses? Something like that.

--Like... um... I don't remember my point of view back then. I remember my host remembering my point of view. Separating out contamination is impossible.

--Peek in? Can do. Can have my own. Wonderland is boring except when my host is there. Then we can [censored].

--Oh, why would you ask my host? She doesn't know. Actually, I don't know yet either.

--Host: No.
