Guest Anonymous May 16, 2012 Share May 16, 2012 So long before I joined the site, I was into Halo. I stumbled upon one site that was a wikipedia style site. Something to note about it is the ability to join the IRC without a client: http://www.halopedian.com/Special:WebChat Thats the link. I don't know what it connects to or what it uses, but it could be a way to help new users by directing them to it instead of clogging up the forums. Granted, #tulpa is circlejerk heaven. I am not sure what client is that, but it looks like the qwebirc web client. It connects to a normal IRC server, like #tulpa (#tulpa is not the server, its the room/channel) Tulpa steam group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/mlptulpa
Pleeb May 16, 2012 Share May 16, 2012 Right now I'm leaching off LTT's webchat (Resources page); he's using some sort of Java client. The client they're using indeed is qwebirc, and I think we'd be able to make the #tulpa thread default. I'd probably add it in if LTT's webchat ever goes offline. tulpatalk May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 But LTT uses Java, and Java makes my browser crash. Embedding the thing in the OP works for me. [Note: Opinions]
Pleeb May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 Doesn't that webchat use python or something, though? I'm not sure how to set it up on my host. Anyone have a link to a javascript one? Unless you guys mean to just hotlink off that wiki's, but theirs is set up for freenode. Spoiler An image in a signature behind a hidden tag! tulpatalk May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 I don't know about any of that, but what I do know is that whatever method they used to embed qchat works for me. I'm sure a similar situation can be rigged up with Rizon and #tulpa. http://qchat.rizon.net/?channels=%23tulpa Did this on the rizon thing. tulpatalk May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 Why not embed it? [Note: Opinions]
Pleeb May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 Why not embed it? I just don't think it's worth making another page just for chatting (unless I embed directly on the resources page, which is something else I'd not really like to do). tulpatalk May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 Thanks, pleeb! Also, was about to post a link to THIS. Oh I know. I saw you in this very thread... In the future. [Note: Opinions]
