Myak July 1, 2013 Share July 1, 2013 I've had my tulpa for almost a month now, and nothing has changed since the first week. I force every day for about half an hour, and I'll occasionally speak to my tulpa during the day, too. But it feels like he has no personality/mind/feels like he doesn't exist at all. Like he's just some sort of flat thing in my mind, a weak imaginary friend at most. I've said before that I automatically parrot him, and I've been trying not to, but I still do. He just doesn't talk very much. And his "voice" is the same as mine, so I tend to think something interesting and assign it to him. I don't know why, but I can't imagine any other tones of voices in my head. I'm just not a vocal thinker. When I'm not assigning thoughts to him, we think in indistinguishable thoughts and I can't tell who is thinking what. Again, I assign him a thought that is probably mine, but I consider it more interesting. But most of all, he NEVER truly replies to my questions or anything. Like he'll randomly say something, but then I'll ask him about it/try to reply, and he says nothing, as if he left/disappeared/plunged back into nonexistence. So I make up a reply for him, automatically. What could I possibly be doing wrong?
Guest EnnervateIndustries July 2, 2013 Share July 2, 2013 Making a tulpa takes time, and that amount of time is different for everyone. I make up a reply for him, automatically. This strikes me as interesting. Try this (at your own choice, obviously): create a voice for him (start by having him mimic someone else if you're not very good with inventing voices) and parrot him using until it seems to stick, then see if those "automatic replies" show up in that voice. It seems to me that he's already there, but you're doubting yourself and pushing him away some. Just an observation.
waffles July 2, 2013 Share July 2, 2013 Be patient. It takes time to make a tulpa, potentially a lot longer than a month. Keep paying attention to what you have, talk to him, and try to allow him to think and speak for himself. Really, you should talk to your tulpa more throughout your day; as much as possible, I would advise.
