Ukobach October 7, 2014 October 7, 2014 This is my first post, so sorry in advance. Also sorry if it's TLDR - I'm a little fried at the moment. Me: Age: mid 20's Gender: Male Other Relevant Info: I've been meditating throughout a lot of my life, so I don't have a problem dropping into a meditative trance at will. My Tulpa: Name: Melody Gender: Female Form: Human Progress so far: Fully sentient, almost fully vocal, some visualization, some manifestation A little back-story: A few years ago I had started (and then abandoned) something similar to Tulpa creation without knowledge of the phenomenon/community that had grown up around it. I had started on Melody and then given up (it's a fairly long story, but if there's interest let me know and I'll post it), so I wasn't starting from scratch. Now for what worked for me, and what didn't: (Please take this section with a grain of salt / I'm not responsible for anything that happens / general boilerplate for these kinds of things) -Drinking Orange Juice: I've been having trouble with side effects and drinking Orange Juice has been immensely helpful with the process as a whole, as well as the trouble focusing and recall problems I've been having. -Meditating While Forcing: Being able to meditate was super helpful for forcing. Honestly this is probably the biggest one; I'd definitely recommend learning how to do basic meditation if you don't know how already and using it during the creation process. -Take Your Time: Between the fact that I wasn't starting from scratch and other factors I went pretty quickly from not knowing about Tulpas to having a fullly sentient one communicating with me on a near constant basis. Honestly, the side-effects have been a little much. We both kind of went a little balls-to-the-wall after she was sentient and I'd recommend a slower approach so you don't burn out. -Stick With It: Keep trying and you'll see results. If something doesn't work for you, try something else. The creation process is deeply personal and dependent entirely on you. -On Doubt: -I reminded myself that the mind is the most fundamental level of reality ("I think, therefore I am", Descartes), and that the only thing that could hinder the process was doubt. If I believed that the Tulpa was real; then she was real and that was all there was to it. This helped a lot with eliminating doubt because there really wasn't any place for it; it didn't have any meaning when dealing with an entirely psychological phenomenon. -On Fears of Parroting: -I assigned a "direction" from which my Tulpa's thoughts/voice would come (up in my case) and everything that comes from that "direction" has definitely been from her. -Also, for thoughts that don't come from that "direction" or seem more like general unconscious drivel, I created a spot for them that I'd refer to as a sort of "shared space" or "unknown origin" area. Basically, I just treated thoughts that were questionable as from an unknown source. This helps prevent the whole "Maybe everything she's saying is just me" dilemma that I was struggling with. Now that she's fairly vocal, it became easier just to ask her "Was that you?" and get a clear response. -I've found that if you hear something before you finish your thought or right after, that's usually your Tulpa. I think that Tulpas, especially in the beginning, tend to rely more on lower-level, wordless thought rather than the higher-level syntactic thought (if that makes sense), which means they hear what we're trying to say before we say it. -Remember that Tulpas grow. In the beginning stages I just assumed that everything was my Tulpa and in the future I'd be better able to distinguish her voice from my own. It helped a lot in the beginning and now it's a lot clearer who's speaking. --- As for progress, I'm working on independence and full vocalization. I'd like her to have her own actual voice. I skipped a lot of that stuff in the beginning and so we're working on fleshing out her "physical-ness" out a little more. I pretty much pushed for full consciousness as fast as possible and now I'm trying to develop the rest of her. We're also dealing with some rather painful side-effects, such as recall problems, difficulty with focus, etc. She thinks that working on parallel-processing and cognition with two conscious entities will help, and I agree. It's definitely been interesting. In the future we'd like to see what else we can do in terms of improving mental processing/optimization/etc. She's quite the tinkerer, which is funny because it's a deviated trait. She's really stepped up to the plate, and I owe her a lot for that. Anyways, thanks for reading, and feel free to PM me or post with questions or anything. ((EDIT: Smileys, how do they work?))
