Lykos July 30, 2012 July 30, 2012 Right, so I was hoping I could describe what I've done so far and you guys could give your opinions on it. What I should also do, what I’m doing wrong, etc. I’m about 8 hours in, and I haven’t really felt anything. I’ve read on the forums of people getting emotional responses or “alien feelings”, and I haven’t gotten anything like that. Anyway, thanks in advance for your opinions. So, I started 3 days ago, and I wanted a pony Tulpa. Specifically, I wanted Pinkie Pie- kinda. I was a bit worried when I learned that you’re not supposed to base your Tulpa on an important character, as that can stifle Deviation and cause your Tulpa to feel insecure about not being the original, as I know she won’t end up. However, I completely accept this. I don’t want her to be the original, and I’ve spent and will spend a good deal of my time narrating telling her this. I don’t know how she will end up, but I’m excited to see who she’ll be. I’m happy every time I notice subconscious deviation, and I tell her that I want her to be, not what my idea is, but who she wants to be, who we both want her to be. I tell her that I will never be angry or sad that she’s unique, and that I can’t wait to see who she turns out to be. I was wondering if this will fix the problem of stifling deviation and insecurity. I think so, personally. Now, my process so far. I started with the personality. I found a list of 450 or so personality traits online, and went through this, wring a sentence or two after each saying how it related to her, or how it didn't. I mainly did this by describing Pinkie Pie, but I included some traits that I personally liked that the conon Pinkie doesn’t have, and I believe my subconscious has picked a few as well. Then (this is what I'm working on now), I went through the list again and am ranking them 1-10, one being not like her at all, and 10 being describing her perfectly. Once that’s done, my plan is to take all the 1s and 10s and go through the list, describing them to her in greater detail, how it effects her, how it effects her personality, her morality, social situations, etc. I'll focus a lot on the 1s and 10s, then the 2s and 9s, then the 3s and 8s, etc. While I do this, I imagine her as a sort of…pink cloud, in the center of my bedroom, who I address whenever I’m describing/evaluating the personality traits. Sometimes I’ll catch a brief glimpse of 2d Pinkie, but it’ll sink back into the cloud. I haven’t worked on visualization at all, though. Today, I started narrating; just talking to her while I do my chores. A good portion of that was as stated above, me reinforcing that her uniqueness is a good thing. Also, I spend a lot of my time narrating talking about my narration/Tulpae in general. Is that okay? Anyway, that’s just about it for what I’ve done so far. I don’t have a wonderland, and I don’t spend much time “meditating”- i.e., sitting, relaxed, with my eyes closed. I just…do. Perhaps I’ll do that once I get around to actually getting in depth with her personality traits. I was wondering what you thought of my method so far. Am I doing anything wrong? Am I skipping anything important? I know when you get reactions vary, but other than the cases of Subconscious Deviation, I haven’t gotten anything. I’m not too worried, though. I saw someone on here hadn’t gotten anything after 120 hours. I’m just wondering. Also, a few random questions: 1) Can a Tulpa create a Tulpa of their own? Either taking a piece of their own mind, and making a Tulpa only they can see, or creating another for you, using your own mind? 2) Are there any particular techniques I can use to encourage some kind of response (other than what I’ve been doing), or subconscious deviation? 3) Seeing as I have a strong idea in mind appearance-wise, will there be deviation on that? I know I’m forgetting some questions. I’ll add them if I remember. If you need any more information, or are confused by anything, feel free to ask. Thank you for your help.
SolEvil July 30, 2012 July 30, 2012 Narration is generally believed to be the most important part of the creation process. So do not worry about it being a bad thing, it will only be a good to narrate. Also, everyone does this differently. The guides are not definite, and any advice you receive is just that, advice. Doing what you are doing now is fine. The only thing I can tell you is that you don't need to exactly define every aspect of your tulpa. You don't need to rank all of those traits and tell how each and every one of them relate to your tulpa. I don't see anything wrong with it though. 1) There is a thread on that here. 2) I don't think there is a definite way to speed up getting a response from a tulpa. I started getting responses from my tulpa after doing this. It may work for you. Few people have tried it aside from me though. 3) There will most likely be some sort of deviation.

Assumed no. They can help with your creation process but that's it. 2. No. Deviation will occur on it's own. You must be patient for responses. 3. It's possible. My tulpa changed from a MLP pony to a blue dragon.
Lykos July 30, 2012 Author July 30, 2012 Thank you both for your answers. Sol, that method looks very interesting and I'll be sure to try it. Albatross, I'll be patient, of course, I was just wondering. Either way, thank you.
Aviar July 30, 2012 July 30, 2012 >Deviation >Going through a list of 350 traits and elaborating all of them >A social life Seriously though, I would recommend building a sort of framework of behaviour. Pick only two or three traits you strongly desire her to have, then three or so auxiliary traits that support that. Elaborate those extensively in narration, and leave the rest up to deviation and evolution of personality. Further, deviation, while inevitable, can probably be 'controlled' in terms of probability by elaborating with reinforcement. I think the key to getting a tulpa that looks or acts how you want is making YOU want it. Of course, this isn't tested and is just my interpretation.

Ha xP Well, This is something I plan to sink 100+ hours into. A social life wasn't exactly an option from the get go. And, yeah. I just felt like I didn't want to miss anything when picking the important traits, so once I go through the list and pick the most important ones, I'll use those and probably forget about the rest. And honestly, the more she deviates, the better. I don't know how she'll end up, but the more she takes the creation process into her own hands- hooves- the better. I want her to become her own individual.

Lykos July 31, 2012 Author July 31, 2012 Your Tulpa is Saphira? :O Tell her she's awesome for me! ^w^ And anyway, today I tried some serious personality work- describing in depth how energetic she is- and I think I was able to give her my energy/emotions! And I got a headache after, so I think I'm doing something right.
Guest Albatross_ July 31, 2012 July 31, 2012 Close to Saphira's form, but not quite. Certainly not her personality. I can't draw so I have to go by the closest image I can find... >Personality work Sounds good. Just remember that this takes a while, keep at it, and you'll be fine.
Lykos July 31, 2012 Author July 31, 2012 Yeah, it's tiring, but I think I'm making steady progress. Thanks for the help, Albatross.
