Are they tulpa's, spirit guides or am I just crazy?

So several years ago, I started feeling the presence of some kind of spirit lion, like an anthro lion I guess.

Also the name Leonidas came out of seemingly nowhere and so thats his name! Not long after that I felt the presence of a dragon the size of a very big dog. I mean literally felt it, he nuzzled me in the back! The dragon doesn't seem to have a name, but they seem to get along well.

The strange thing is I feel like they have their own lives, as they seem to leave and go somewhere else a lot. I think that they watch out for me as I've had an experience of Leonides chasing "something" away from me that had a very omenus feeling about it. Now I never see them with regular sight, only feel them and have been in my dreams! Also I've woken up feeling that Leonides is cuddling with me!

Could I have created fully formed tulpa's at once without ever knowing about this concept? If so would that mean I have an exceedingly powerful imagination and creativity? Or could they actually be spirit guides like they claim? Finally maybe I'm just crazy after all?

My origin was never in question. I came from a series of novels my host wrote.

 

Similarly, Gwen, one of my headmates, was created in a different series of books my host wrote.

 

Three of my headmates appeared spontaneously one day demanding to be part of the system without any real tie to created characters and only borrowing their forms or taking an arbitrary form to my host's liking. The three I'm talking about are angelic, have entered my host's dreams and hypnagogic state, and are the definition of spiritual guides to him. Though being tied to a corpereal being in such a way doesn't afford them many, if any, memories outside our host.

 

What are they? Tulpas?

Do we all qualify as tulpas? Sure.

 

So this community will continue to support the psychological explanation, other than they think tulpas are independent people sharing your head, which sure sounds like a metaphysical notion to me. As a community they're at least trying to stay scientifically grounded and it works for the majority of them who have characters that came to life or tulpas that they created from scratch.

 

Some 'tulpas' don't fit very well into that mould however.

 

The good news is that this community is welcoming and has tools that seem to work regardless.

Hello there. I see, thats very neat and interesting. I'm still not sure, but I was reading an article about how to contact your spirit guides, and then just after that is when my lion appeared. By the way a lion is not at all what I expected, I was actually thinking of a dragon! But he came later. I found that odd.

 

They really do seem affectionate towards me, they are not hostile to others, just not interested in them. There is also some sexual element in their affection to me! 

 

They do not bother me or anything. But what kinda weirded me out was I thought they were just my imagination until I felt them return without me thinking of them, and it was like they came to check on me then left again. I get the feeling they really do "live" somewhere and watch out for me from afar and sometimes get close to show some affection.

 

But then their personalities are a match for me and they do come when I ask them to, like they were created by me, so I really don't know. Nice to have them around though :)

 

I almost forgot! The last time they visited I heard them talking and it was like their voices came from very far away and got louder and closer! I could not understand them, they seemed to be speaking in an odd language!

Many of these experiences you say are not completely unheard of for tulpas, soulbonds or spirit guides, though the sexual aspect probably moves them away from spirit guides as a whole, they tend to have platonic love. However they aren't opposed to being affectionate and being in your body with you may give them that same sense of wanting more. It's very typical for tulpas to do that as well. I believe all these thoughtforms or beings are related.

 

You'll have to be patient with other responses since there are only a few of us who answer metaphysical questions and usually have strong biases. It would be wise to expand your resources beyond this forum, such as spiritualforums.com.

Hi, and thanks for the advice. I'll check that fourm out too. I'm patient and curious about others ideas.

What I think is most interesting, is only Leonides has been sexual with me, the dragon is friendly but almost formal with me.

From the other people we've talked to with spirit guides, they're usually very guarded and formal, but not always. They can be aloof or best friends, it's just like any other relationship with anyone else in some cases.

That makes sense. Also I think I will try to create a tulpa sometime, it sounds interesting.
