I recall the video youtuber and influencer PhiaBunny made on a DID system a while back. It was a very informative video, but unfortunately the title and thumbnail were very clickbaity. Then again, that video was made literally off of an interview with a DID system, one we happen to know quite well, so it was made directly with someone with a positive plural experience. Even so, it had to be sensationalized to get clicks, which is sad. 

I guess looking back the title wasn't bad at all, but the thumbnail is misleading at best.

Thanks for bringing attention to this show. It's a shame to have yet another piece of media that's gonna lead to further demonization of plurality. Never expected much better to come outta Hollywood,  but that doesnt mean they shouldnt try to do better. This petitions got our support. - 🪸

It's not the crowded room, but it is a mainstream media production containing a DID character-- Moon Knight! The main character, Marc Spector, is a mercenary that has DID, his main alter named Steven Grant. Marc is a lot more violent and impulsive than Steven, who prefers to avoid conflict. That's a simplification, of course, but you get the idea. The series opens following Steven, and how weird things are happening that he believes to be dreams, when in reality they're moments of lucidity when Marc is doing his merc stuff. To most viewers, they'll see Steven as the original identity, which isn't true, not to the show or the original comics. Steven is an alter that the brain made likely to compartmentalize the trauma of all the terrible things Marc has done, that's obvious to anyone who knows about DID. I worry that to most viewers, though, they'll see it as Steven having gone insane with a sociopathic other side. The series does a fair enough job about saying that Marc is the "host," but many people still may not catch onto it. Not to mention, it's a superhero show. There's an element of fantasy to it that portrays DID as something worse or different than it is. It's better representation that most media, absolutely, but I just wanted to kinda pivot this conversation to that since it feels relevant. What do you guys think?
