Hi everyone, I've decided to make an account here to share my thoughts and experiences, and hopefully get answers to questions I might have. I'll split this in sections to hopefully make everything easier to follow.
I've been fascinated by the concept of tulpas since I first heard about them a few years ago, but hadn't done any research until now. I read a few guides I found in the pinned list on here so I'm still very much in the process of learning.

First attempts at an "ideal tulpa":
I'm a writer and my first instinct was to try and bring one of my characters to life, as I have a lot of emotional attachment to several of them, and I've found contrasting opinions on whether one should try that or not. I'd give them control on who they want to be, I'd be using the pre-existing character as more of a base to get looks and personality from.
I spent most of the first day reading guides and focusing on narrating and coming up with a mindscape and I went to bed a lot earlier than my usual time so I could spend a while focusing on all this without distractions.
Having picked which character I'd like to use as a base for my tulpa, I talked to them about their personality and looks, and after an handful of attempts of varying duration, I started feeling that head pressure I read about, so I think that's a good sign that I should keep it up. The pressure seems to be very slight or not present if I'm doing other things, and when I focus on my tulpa or call their name, it becomes very noticeable.

Do I have a "proto-tulpa"?
While basing my tulpa of one of my characters was the starting point, I'm not sure if I actually already have a "proto-tulpa" of sorts. I've been basically talking to "not me" since 2014, sometimes in my head but mostly in written form. While at the start I'm sure I had to come up with the answers I was getting, now it's like second nature and has been for years, but I still feel it's a part of me replying instead of another being. This "not me" doesn't have a name, but does have a personality that differs from mine, I don't consider them their own being though, as I don't recall them ever speaking unless spoken to or after being "summoned" to speak on a topic that was on my mind.
Talking to "not me" is very easy as it's a near constant back and forth, while in the attempts with my tulpa, I'm very much just narrating and pausing in case I get any reply, but none have come so far.
Back in the first years they had no personality, but as time passed it just developed on its own, their replies started feeling more like another person's, like I was getting someone else's point of view on anything I brought up, but I'm still reluctant to come to conclusions about what they are. If any of you have experience with something like this, I'd really like to hear it.

Having aphantasia:
In pretty much every guide I found, there's a lot of emphasis put on the visual aspect, be that in the wonderlands or by giving your tulpa a body. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I try, nothing shows up when I try seeing things in my head. I've tried meditating, clearing my mind and focusing hard on seeing anything at all, but the result is always a black nothing. I've seen a recent post on here that said people with aphantasia can still develop tulpas so I'm not that worried, I'm going to put extra effort into the mind voice related aspects of it to compensate.
The mindscape/wonderland I came up with is very basic, as trying to focus on finer details seems to be impossible no matter how hard I try, this has been the case during my writing as well, I don't know if there are solutions to this.
