We have been approached by a curious individual on FetLife, asking about the method of Switching in tulpamancy, and the idea of creating a servitor specifically for switching. I believe the intent here is for the servitor to learn new skills while the host resides in wonderland. A slightly less morally charged concept to creating a tulpa specifically to live life for the host. aside from the moral implications of this concept. do people actually switch with servitors, or is this a concept that is predominantly reserved for tulpas? we have only switched maybe once or twice in our 2 years of active tulpamancy, and have never considered doing it with a servitor. I would think this practice would highly increase the likelihood of said servitor gaining consciousness into full tulpa-hood. What are your thoughts?

The definition of servitor has recently been argued, so it will be a bit confusing if I don't preface this with our definition of servitor:

A thoughtform that does not have novel thought, akin to a computer program (not AI) or machine as in the BodyOS that can only do what it has been programmed or taught to do.

Servitors need to be taught everything they know. So this isn't going to work by definition.

I don't see a problem with this, it's been done many times.

We "switch with BodyOS" but we consider it rather that no one is switched in, everyone is switched out, and BodyOS does whatever it can given simple instructions.

1. The BodyOS (a servitor like mechanism) does not record memories, it has complete amnesia. One example is when you "zone out" while immersed in thought while walking or driving and you arrive at the destination. The action can be anything the BodyOS knows how to do including cleaning or other mundane repetitive tasks. We utilize this often. Before tulpamancy, it would just be considered "lost in thought" or "daydreaming" while doing something that you can basically do with your eyes closed (an expression). Including taking notes in class, really sloppy notes that can't be deciphered in Bear's case to Bear's dismay.

2. The BodyOS will throw an interrupt if it encounters something requiring thought or if experiences something unexpected or if it is hurt. It might immediately switch someone in or simply stop and notify us there was a stoppage (this occurs only if there is no immediate need to respond, like "destination reached"). Both have happened, and in the latter case we can finish whatever we were doing or talking about before one of us switches back in.

3. BodyOS has no personality and cannot carry on a conversation aside from "ok" or "I will" or "thank you" when quarried by someone external unexpectedly. In some cases we have no record of this unless someone external to the body notifies of this. An example of this is when we're engrossed in something and someone interfaces with the body. We know this much because BodyOS will notify us, if we let it handle it, it will "wing it" with simple words or phrases it has used many times.

4. BodyOS has no desires and doesn't react to egoic impulses only reflexive or instinctive impulses or conditioned reactions.

We have been doing this for 4 years and the BodyOS hasn't changed at all, never had a thought of its own, and if it did we would kill any idea that it thinks for itself as an intrusive thought.
