Seagull February 5 February 5 Those are some lovely photographs! You have a good eye for detail. My favourites are the tree and the leaf ones. The towering tree with it's very organic shape, and I've never seen a leaf that looks like that before. I'm glad that the thaw let you go outside again. - Reina Unspecified amount of time's quote: Today will eventually become tomorrow's yesterday. - Seagull Seagull's Active member list Reina - Social and giddy Zara - Cute and friendly Alexander - Calm and logical No signature or Seagull = Seagull - Social and direct
TurboSimmie February 5 February 5 I like the new batch of photos! 😁 They definitely have the gray and brown winter color palette to them. (People think about white puffy snow in winter but our reality is 90% these colors and you definitely captured that vibe) I kinda like the rotting log in the water the best for some reason, I can't put my finger on it. Yeah, I didn't really notice that until you pointed it out. Nature photographers are a slave to our seasons, but I focus in on the detail so I didn't think of these as "winter shots." But you're right, they have a winter energy to them. 🕸️🕸️🕸️ The log in the puddle shot was actually a hard decision. I had another reflection shot that showed tall trees reaching up to a reflected sky but also the bottom of the stream in a sort of ghostly superposition. I decided to include this one because I thought the log was interesting for reasons. (I'm really intuitive. I can't say why I like some shots better than others. I just sort of feel them...) Here is the one that didn't quite make the cut:
Seagull March 1 March 1 (edited) My two favourites are the two strolling duckys and, OH... what kind of twisty wisty tree is that?! It's horrifically beautiful in its own way. Lovely photos! Did enjoy, nice. - Zara Edited March 1 by Seagull Unspecified amount of time's quote: Today will eventually become tomorrow's yesterday. - Seagull Seagull's Active member list Reina - Social and giddy Zara - Cute and friendly Alexander - Calm and logical No signature or Seagull = Seagull - Social and direct
Athelas March 1 March 1 I'm also fascinated by those twisting vines. They almost look as if someone braided them. And I like the contrast between the geometric and organic shapes of the bridge and stones in your fourth picture. Call me Tea if you like. Remember, hate is always foolish, and love is always wise.

The way they were mirroring one another. On 3/1/2025 at 11:16 AM, Athelas said: I'm also fascinated by those twisting vines. They almost look as if someone braided them. They just naturally wound into one another that way. That's what I love about photography. That we're noticing stuff (and snapping it) that we might have missed before. It has changed the way we look at things. Thank you both for the comments 💗💗💗
Lavender March 16 Author March 16 Hi everyone, time for more photos. Also time to say I love love love the comments people have been leaving! 💗💗💗 Hope you like the new ones...
The Bards March 16 March 16 (edited) It’s hard to find the right way to express how amazing these are, due to the fact that we aren’t too familiar with photography terms or composition. Just know that the amount of emotion captured with every single photo is breathtaking. - The Narrator (he/they) Edited March 16 by The Bards
Seagull March 17 March 17 1: The first one looks like a mini cave. Poor tree... that's quite the extreme scene captured there! 2: I remember seeing a stone path before, but this is seems WAAY longer. 3: Cute squirrel, they can be quite timid, so good job one that one. 4: I like the striped, tan, and black stones. Is that a sand floor? I'm not sure, the cracks seem to form a kind of grid. 5: This tree looks like torn fabric. The gradient between the reddish brown and light brown looks like a wound. 6: Are those wood pecker holes or wood knot holes? Stange... and interesting! Overall a grand batch of photos. Simply delightful. - Seagull Unspecified amount of time's quote: Today will eventually become tomorrow's yesterday. - Seagull Seagull's Active member list Reina - Social and giddy Zara - Cute and friendly Alexander - Calm and logical No signature or Seagull = Seagull - Social and direct
