This progress report is discontinued and I'll stop posting. I'll still be tulpamancing, but I'd prefer not to post progress here anymore.

 

Okay, I'll keep it pretty short so it won't be tl;dr.

As Eonart said in his own progress report,

I come from another community where things such as tulpas are commonly rejected because everyone is a "rational atheist gas mask and fedora enthusiast" there, I'm an atheist too but clearly I'm not as "rational" as those other guys. Well, at least I'm doing something I think is true.

 

Other than that, one day I was browsing /v/ (not related to the community mentioned above) out of boredom, and came across a thread about games with good character customization. Then one post said:

I was confused and decided to look it up and then I came across this website. I read a lot about it, got interested and decided "why not?".

So then I read a few guides and stuff. I started 'tulpaforcing' on the 1st of December, came up with how she looks and all that, and then created a wonderland.

I was following some guidelines according to the guides for a few days, but decided it was pointless and started doing it my way. This belief was reinforced by a few posts I've read on the forums, and then on the #tulpa.info chat.

So a few days in, I decided to treat her like a real person already rather than an empty shell that I must fill.

 

So yeah, before I continue, I'll just say stuff about her.

Her name is Mio. She's pretty much a human, but anime-inspired girl with wavy flame-red hair and blue eyes. She wears a blue Chinese-style shirt, a blue short skirt and black thigh-high socks.

 

I gave her a few base traits, but explicitly told her that she can deviate from them however she feels like.

 

So I worked and did other uninteresting things, narrated to her and all that stuff. I decided to take it easy and not follow strict guidelines.

 

Here's some interesting development:

I always put on music before bed, and on the 11th (i think) of December, before bed I asked Mio if she wants me to turn music on, and suddenly I heard "No, it distracts you from me". I just stood and froze in place and asked myself "Wait. Are you serious? Was that just me, or really her?". I was amazed, and went to bed.

 

Later the following days I haven't felt like she was being vocal. I did talk to her and got responses sometimes, but I wasn't sure if it's really her talking or it's just me doing it.

I often tend to simulate conversations between me and other people before I talk to them about certain subjects, so I'm afraid that I might be doing the same when talking to Mio.

 

So now it's the 14th of December where I just started with the whole progress report thing. I probably won't update it every day, but only when there's some progress. So yeah.

 

Well damn, this post didn't end up short after all.

Okay, so today (15.12.2012) during a walk I was "talking" to Mio, and like usual, I wasn't sure if I was just somehow parroting her, or she was actually talking.

Anyway, it was pretty much a questions & answers conversation. She asked me what was this and what was that, and I explained her things.

 

I actually got to hear her in a somewhat different voice than usual, which doesn't sound much like my own mind voice. It's a bit... softer.

Okay, it's the 18th day and I'm confident that Mio is vocal now. Today was also the first time we showed a differing opinion. Funnily enough, it's about memes.

I despise most memes, yet she commented that she has no problems with them. That's cool.

 

Yesterday we watched a few episodes of Gintama. She says she loves it and that it's awesome.

Oh boy. I was taking a morning shower and I asked Mio if she's okay with working on our 2nd tulpa. Suddenly, I heard another voice saying "I'm already here.".

Woah.

Well, I'm not really that surprised, considering how a few days ago I suspected I might have accidentally created him ahead of his time after I already imagined his name and what he's like, and Mio confirmed it by saying "Yyyyep. He's there."

So I asked him how long it's been since, and he said "6 days". Welp.

 

Anyway, his name is Yuki (name subject to change) and he's a trap. He also seems a bit sarcastic and cynical. I like that.

I'll get to drawing him some time.

Oooookay...

I was just taking a shower, so I decided to doze off into my wonderland for a minute. There I saw Yuki working on some big sciency machine of some sorts. He won't tell me what it is.

I never thought of Yuki inventing things.

 

Goddamnit, Yuki, I'm curious!

I went into my wonderland for a bit and told Mio and Yuki merry christmas.

Suddenly, Yuki turned on the machine that he was working on and it started snowing everywhere.

I guess Yuki built a weather control device!

Day 29

I feel that Mio and Yuki are getting more independent now. They're responding even when I'm trying to stop/block my own thoughts. It feels more not-me than usual.

I think I might be unintentionally making a 3rd tupper. This is uncontrollable.

For a few days I kept getting this image of a girl that I imagined many years ago back in middle school. The name "Julia" pops up in my mind. Huh.
