Thisisausername December 15, 2012 December 15, 2012 Hello, I've started drafting ideas for a tulpae and I've tried doing open-eye day dreaming however I didn't get far, I could barely see anything other then a vague shape for a second or two. So I decided to try closed eye however I couldn't "switch" to my "mind eyes", I could get a vague image in my head however it only shows up for a few seconds and it's a gray scale image with a bit of depth however the image quickly fades. I was able to spawn a spinning box for a few seconds but it was still dark. I've already looked up various guides but I can't find much on this, if anyone has a suggestion it would be much appreciated.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this could be because you're trying to do meditative forcing before you've "calmed down" enough. Try using Fede's tones, despite popular opinion they work for a fair number of people, myself included. Also, try just relaxing first for a while and clear your mind of distractions before trying to force, it gets much easier that way.

I'll try Fede's tones. Thanks for the suggestion.
Guest EnnervateIndustries December 15, 2012 December 15, 2012 No, I mean physically see or mentally see? If it is the former, you're doing very well, that's visual imposition. If it is the latter, let's just say it's usually pretty hard to daydream willfully.

It's the latter, I'm going to be stuck in a car for 4 hours tomorrow so I might as well see if any of the tones help. Thanks again for the suggestion.
Kagekotsu December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 Maybe give the "dreamland" stratagy a try? I've been doing this for the past few days and I find it makes it easier to focus on my Tulpa if we're in some sort of setting rater then just floating in a void or whatever. It just makes everything seem more "real" to me somehow. Also I wouldn't worry too much about what your tulpa looks like just yet, I was also doing this on my first day of forcing, but I eventually figured that trying to force a form wasn't as important as actually putting energy into the tulpa (which I have been doing mostly by narrating) I hope that makes sense....I'm still really new to this as well, but I feel this has been working pretty well for e so far, so I thought I'd share. Best of luck to you.

Best of luck to you. Thing is that's what I've been trying. I've tried basing it off my bedroom, then Tomorrowland and EPCOT at Disneyworld (long story short: I find the engineering and attention to detail put into their rides amazing and I know the parks like my back pocket) however the only thing I could get out of it was a sort of vague shape behind my eyelids or my brain would do some sort of "yep you thought of that, shame you couldn't visualize it" thought. I can't "snap" into my imagination, even if Ig et an image I can't get a feeling from it. I've tried Fede's tones for about 30 minutes, the Tulpatone clip felt like the neighbor was trying to destroy his second floor with a jackhammer while someone was screwing around with an old Roland synthesizer in the background. I think I might be doing this wrong, am I supposed to put it loud so that drowns out my inner voice or do I keep it just loud enough to talk to myself and hear the whole thing? I'll again for an hour or two tomorrow. And yeah sorry I'm vague with this but I have no idea how to describe this in a better way without sounding like a madman.
Guest EnnervateIndustries December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 What you'll want to do with the tones is just put them a bit quieter than you play music normally (unless you blast your music) and stop intentionally listening to it after you are sufficiently relaxed. As for the wonderland, start with something simpler to start, like a completely bare room (boring, I know), and when you get the room down, try decorating it a bit. Also, don't worry about sounding like a madman, we're all mad here.

Thisisausername December 18, 2012 Author December 18, 2012 Well quick update, I've scraped the whole thing and decided to plan in more detail, maybe personalization will help out visualizing.
