ToBeATree June 25, 2012 June 25, 2012 So, I'm just starting to tulpaforce, and so far, I've done the suggested greeting step. I think I was doing something right, because I got a light headache that has gotten slightly more prevalent until this point, which is a supposed symptom. I've tried to develop personality, but I can't talk about any of the ~20 traits I've chosen for more than a minute or two. It feels very forced and stuttery, because I don't really know what to say. Also, I tried visualizing. Since I want my tulpa to be a pony, I tried to visualize his mane first, but no matter what I tried, I couldn't keep the form down, no matter how many times I traced it in my mind. Is all this normal, or am I too impatient?

But later I suggest looking up guides on how to visualize better, I think there are some on this site. Do personality how you want to, just make sure it feels comfortable, it doesn't really "have" to be any length of time and two minutes is fine. The main point of going over personality is just to get a good idea of the tulpa's personality inside and out, it's more for you than the tulpa since you're the one making the tulpa. no

Well, today was the first time I actually tried. Someone said to write three sentences for each trait and say them repeatedly, so I'll see how that goes. I might try Irish's method and not do personality, but then I have to make a wonderland, and that seems like more work to me :S

Bin June 25, 2012 June 25, 2012 Talk to the tulpa like you would any person, except they're always around. Don't end up just talking to yourself by saying anything that crosses your mind, but talk to them as much as possible. You can do it out loud which will lead to quicker sentience, or you can do it in your head which supposedly makes it easier to talk to them telepathically. Keep in mind you should attempt to focus on the tulpa when doing that. It may feel like you're talking to yourself at first but that will pass shortly. no
