The problem is the show is really not like that until the very end lol, it's originally more lighthearted like a kids' action cartoon, but the american localization replaced the music to make it edgier and rewrote dialogue/added dialogue during staredowns not in the original to try to make it more tense They're correct that that is what we wanted, but like... it's not what it was lol
-
I get you Sick intro, reminds me of samurai champloo
-
Being nostalgic for the stupid intro helped our willingness to watch it lol I wasn't saying they're the same thing, just an example of "canon-ness" dissuading us from watching something we might otherwise like
-
I would consider that different
-
GT is a continuation from Dragon Ball Z ten or so years later, but it was entirely made by TV producers and not Toriyama It's alright, not as bad as the reputation it has, although the american dub is heavily edited to be "cooler" sounding than it was intended to be with a lot of changed dialogue (including some kinda nonsensically when compared to the original that was just fine) But then of course there's Super, which came far later, and is canon again - completely ignoring GT - so it was a really hard sell for me who cares about canon-ness a lot
-
Also what is gt even about
-
I'm just listening in because I know nothing, lol.
- Today
-
No no, just the setting (following a previous fallen human's could've-been story)
-
So you're saying that you think you already have the plot figured out?
-
I'm actually not someone who gets bugged by a person talking to me too much about something they're recommending, I'm more likely to be convinced But yeah most people are like that for some reason - I almost get it because I do get that effect from "only kind of hearing about" something popular constantly, even Undertale I initially avoided because I didn't like all the hoopla about something that looked dumb, but I have never ever felt that from like a friend talking to me about something Of course I often remain opinion unchanged, but at least for me it seems worth a bit of "You'd like it, it -" talk (but I 100% know most people hate this lol so don't let that instinct to not go) Anyways it's hard to believe it's not what I think it is when it's literally about a previous human in the Undertale lore is it not? I do know it's so old all the characters are different though
-
Seems like a dumb reason to not play a game, but whatever Usually I'd agree with you and maybe only check out a fangame because it's so bad it's good. I have no idea if gt is supposed to be lore accurate, or if it makes its own canon, but yellow is pretty much completely out of the way of the main canon and is able to be enjoyed as its own standalone experience while still being in the same setting. I'm saying this just to clarify so maybe you'll be slightly less averse, but I don't want to yuck your yum by being too autistic about it either It's still a good game Maybe helluva boss is a bad example of what I'm talking about, but it's all I could think of
-
The almost is because it's only roughly the same aversion I had to Dragon Ball GT which after a lot of convincing we did eventually watch as well, though a game is a lot more commitment for us, and this still assumes we'll have the ability to commit to playing a game we "kind of want to play" in the first place So after Deltarune is finished & if we get Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatments that improve our brain function, then there'd be a decent chance of us playing it But obviously those are huge assumptions so Edit: I wanted to follow that post up immediately but very nice of you to just accept it as-was despite how important it is to you
-
Okay
-
Almost assuredly not, I have an autistic aversion to "non-canon" things, on top of failing to play things I really want to play like Deltarune and Antonblast already It seems really high quality though
-
Will YOU ever play yellow?
-
Definitely noted! 😁 Little scared what Yellow is like then.
-
Yellow is probably a long ways away for them, at least mentally Though you can do that in Undertale too most of the time, it's not necessarily "important", just more dialogue for those (like me) that enjoy every dialogue they can find
-
When you eventually get over to yellow, don't forget that you have the option in the menu to talk to characters that follow you that you can use to get new dialogue for every room. Some bits may be important to keep in mind, so try to be as sociable as possible
-
Second nature to me. 😁 Might have a solid chance then.
-
You always have to do the full Neutral ending on a fresh install no matter what, but the Pacifist content afterwards only requires starting over if you weren't Pacifist, including the Undyne thing It's important story so it'd be bad to be able to skip
-
I did manage the Pacifist requirements my first playthrough, but I'm a very thorough player + knew it was a thing you could do so @ ring (explaining the Neutral/Pacifist ending reqs)
-
Don't forget to follow the characters when they run off dramatically
-
Thanks! 😊 4-5 hours doesn't sound too bad. We'll try a Pacifist run blind first and see what happens. 😄 Nightfall: because of course she wants us to play that way, lol.
-
I have a 3 to 10 the day of the chapter that I can't drop I always thought that the game would force you to fight the neutral final boss on your first playthrough regardless of if you were on the pacifist track Doing genocide first in undertale yellow was an experience. You get so much random story that only makes sense if you had played the previous routes first, so you end up wondering about how everything will fit into place. Also, I felt ten times worse seeing the picture.
