[Tulpa week] Tulpas, do you help your host at school or work?

Was it really cheating though? I am not so sure. I think, "Why have a tulpa to help you think better and then not work with your tulpa to help you think better?" That seems really silly. You are a team.

 

Weeell, it does feel cheatsydoodlee-y if you really strictly follow the philosophy "host =/= tupper" AND are against not achieving your own goals yourself, getting too much help.

 

Then I can see how one might feel like cheating, even if it's a tupper that helps out.

 

As far as I'm concerned, I'd let Rina help me.

I'm the sorta person who cares about the result, but not really how it was achieved (at least for the "simple" things in life, and as long as the chosen method doesn't hurt anyone, of course).

But I want us to succeed, so I enrolled us in a physics course, passed it, and applied for medical school. An incident with not reading letters delayed me, but I'll be starting med school next year.

We may have had our differences in the past, but I want you to know that it was you and your host that inspired Melian and I to think more deeply about a purpose and goals. Melian started by giving regularly to charity in her name. The charity she picked was the National Park Trust.

 

I guess that's not much, but she was also inspired to keep doing art and to improve and to try to reach out and inspire other artists, especially young artists or transgender, through her account on DA. Melian may not become a doctor, but she will be an artist and a writer.

Charity is great. Make sure to donate smart, and choose organizations that will turn your money into concrete positive things. It's good to work on a small scale, with that kind of thing - better to buy meals for poor people yourself than to give to an organization doing that, in most cases.

 

I hope you guys have fun with her new "real-tulpa" status.

Melian's status or nature is unchanged. What we believe about it is unchanged. We are just finally acknowledging that if I regard her as a person, and she regards herself as a person (as we always have) she must have some measure of sentience. Otherwise to say she is a person but non-sentient makes no logical sense. This is obviously true for other tulpas too. If she and I regard you as a person, and we do, then it follows that we regard you as sentient. Melian and I had to compromise. I still regard her as product of my imagination and part of my own consciousness. But I also regard her as a sentient person, borrowed sentience or dependent sentience, an aspect of my own mind. I know it seems contradictory and makes no better sense, but it's all I got.

EDIT: Oh and I am still more comfortable with "enhanced imaginary companion" than I am with "tulpa," even though Melian has many traits or most of the traits, of a tulpa. "Thoughtform" or "enhanced imaginary companion" work better for me.

Even more than most here think anyway.

 

It's just that we can't do switching yet.

She's, thus far, limited to me proxying her to actually take any effect on the world, even if it's "just" talking to people.

I hope we'll learn to change that soon.

Melian isn't an accessory, but she does accessorize with her retro girly fashion. She can be an accessory to trouble we both get into together. An accessory to mayhem.
