So I'm new here. I found this place on /mlp/. Can't say I'm terribly surprised they'd be interested in this sort of thing. I WON'T be making a pony tulpa, however. I've narrowed down to two choices for a form.

However, before I even get started on her, I need to work on my own brain. I've been interested in mental phenomena, but I really lack the concentration to manifest any. Whenever I close my eyes to try to meditate, I can't get just straight blackness. My mind bounces around and pulls stuff up at will.

With that literally in mind, I'm in the "planning phase". I'm using the concentration training in the guides section, as well as making a long list of personality traits. I'll have a house mostly to myself for the next two weeks, so I'll have the peace and quiet for this.

I have a few questions. First, could someone give an indepth explanation for narrating? Is it as simple as just explaining my actions aloud? And second, both of my tulpa's possible forms are based on original characters I created previously. I read that its not the best idea to base them off existing characters or people. Would this hinder or change her development at all? One of the characters is meant to be used in multiple settings for a variety of things, and the other isn't really well defined.

Thank you on advance for your help. Any other advice or comments will be massively appreciated.

Get ready for a wall of text son. Narrating doesnt have to be out loud, but tulpae say its better when you do though. Otherwise just think about random stuff with your tulpa, like "guess i should buy a new shirt" or "i feel like eating outside today, what do you think [insert name here]?"

Actually, there is no problem on basing on an existing character as long as you make it clear it just LOOKS like the character and is NOT the character itself. But using original characters is fine.

About this character you use in multiple settings, there may be quite a curious case about it. A user called Sock in here had a character he would use for his imaginary adventures based on game he played, and that character actually became a tulpa on its own. In your case, you might give this character of yours a little "push" for it to attain sentience. In my opinion, I encourage you to use that form.

The most important part about form is freedom. Whenever you imagine your tulpa and something is different, do not correct it, it is most likely that the tulpa herself wanted to change it's form, which is in many cases, an act to please you. Overall, welcome aboard and thank the tulpa gods is not another pony. Not that i have anything against ponies, after all, fluttershy is the best.

Thanks for the reply, Pronas. Twilight is best pony :p

I feel I should expand on the two forms. The first, more open and undefined one is that of a blonde girl, about my age. She's appeared in my dreams before, and long before I knew about tulpae I liked to think she was with me somehow. The multiple settings one is my favorite female character I've created, and would be easier to visualize. Imagine Vivi from FF9, but in the shape of a human female. Both characters I feel particularly drawn to, because I feel they'd both make good companions, which is all I want.

>blonde girl

MA BRO. We all know blond girls are the best, so i will forgive you for thinking twilight is best pony :P

And bonus for you if you have a particular ease into imagining those characters, just makes visualization easier then.

So I didn't get a lot of sleep today because I went to see Dark Knight Rises last night. Awesome movie.

There have been a few developments. I've decided on a form, the blonde girl. I'm calling her Patience, but she may want to change that. I've noticed whenever I think about her, I feel a slight pressure on the top of my head.

I also noticed something else today. I narrate all the fucking time. Seriously, I talk to myself a lot. When I noticed I was doing it, I just started directing what I was saying to her instead of just speaking out loud, describing what I was working on.

Visualization is not as hard as I thought it was going to be either. When I picture her in my mind, she is facing away from me. Im probably doing this on purpose, as faces are hardest to visualize.

Pronas mentioned Sock had created a tulpa without really knowing it. Believe I've got the very early stages of one already. Having already dreamed of her, she's n my subconscious somehow.

I'll be trying to force soon. I want to be sure I'm ready for it, to do her justice.

Right so, trait list. Let's do 15.

Minor update.

When I finally went to bed last night, I told Patienc goodnight. A minute later, I had strange sensation hit me. It felt like arms wrapping around me, but sort of tingly. It was nice, but I really had to sleep ._. I thanked her and told her so, and it went away. Im not sure if it was my mind playing triks on me or what...it was an unusual sensation, and I can't say I've felt it before.
