Tulpa Focus Group

If there's anyone out there with experience who want to develop advanced skills like imposition or switching, I'm looking to create a group who will motivate each other and put in some work each night, reporting back on their thoughts and experiences. If you're interested, leave a comment here or PM me and I'll see what kind of interest there is and if it's worth pursuing.

Would it be private?

Would it be private?

I think it would be best if it was, yeah. Part of getting people together in a group is help with motivating you to force more and develop these skills, and if people who weren't working on them were there, talking in the same group, then it could lead to a "They aren't doing it, so I guess I won't either" mentality.

However, I'm still unsure of the platform we would communicate on. If people have suggestions, I'm all ears.

Password-protected IRC. Most folks are on Rizon.

We have Discord currently and I guess Rizon IRC can work as well. Whichever is more convenient really.

The idea of the focus group, imo, is if new tulpaforcers and even experienced ones want to share their personal happenings among a tightly knit group and have reasonable discussions about what they've gone through. Also, there will be a good number of people who've tulpa'd for a long time (including myself) that can provide 1-on-1 help to anyone struggling with stuff.

Also it'll be a private group that you ask to join, so you don't need to worry about trolls or anything like that.

It should only host people willing to share progress or help the former. Otherwise, might get clogged with bystanders and lurkers, making it less tight-knit and more public. There's #tulpa.info for that.

Discord requires registration, unlike IRC.

The heart of the issue is the simple fact that it is a public internet forum open for anyone to join and participate and speak their mind. You are going to have outliers and off topic discussion. You cannot force conformity into a narrow set of parameters or the forum will die of lack of interest. Requiring rank and file members to have or state objectives will kill it faster than anything I can imagine.

With a public, open and free internet venue, general rank and file members understandably have very little personal investment in the success, continuity and cohesion of this forum. Why should they? What you end up with is a very small number of dedicated members who may really care, but don't have the time to monitor activity and corral things, and a huge turn over rate of more or less temporary members that don't care at all except how it entertains them.

Solution: A smaller more serious group needs to meet in private in a different venue, maybe even in person. Private meetings by invitation only? Private e'mail? A secret society? An smaller institute for tulpa study with applications for membership including a questionaire and auto-biographical essay on why the applicant wants a tulpa, goals and beliefs? An application fee or membership dues?

I suggested a private, invitation only forum about a year ago when Yuki was complaining that those that are "less serious," or not conforming, were causing "rampant idiocy" on Tulpa Info and the IRC. I am surprised no one has done this before this time. Maybe they have and I just don't know about it? It is a good idea for those of you who are really wanting to share without having trollish interruptions or tomfoolery.

I don't like the idea of a forum as much because text chat allows for more instantaneous replies (obviously) and more fluid group discussion.

Also Mistgod it is worth noting that this isn't a circle jerk for "experienced tulpamancers" and it's actually a resource to help new AND existing ones struggling with complicated stuff like imposition.

Password protected IRC works fine for me, and it's easier to keep logs in the event that we come up with something neat and want to share it with the community.

An, is it safe to assume you're interested as well?
