I asked him if he likes his name, he said yes, and now I am trying to figure out: is he trying to say to me that he wants another name?

Random thoughts and feelings can get the better of your imagination early on. It's best to just stay practical and do what you intend to at the start, and then as your tulpa becomes vocal, clarify things by asking them. Random things like a not-yet-vocal tulpa showing up as a different form or such shouldn't be read into as "them trying to say they {blank}" too much - we sometimes call trying random things and random thoughts-and-feelings as the "googoo gaga's" of a developing tulpa. If they do want any real changes, they'll be able to tell you once they're consistently vocal, and until then you should just do what makes the most sense/is most comfortable for you. (And of course, if your tulpa is vocal, listen to them)
