I plan to start today and have some questions:

1) I have read all of the guides on the guides sections (http://tulpa.info/guides/index.html). I plan to go by FAQ_man's guide and start out with personality on day 1. Is FAQ_man's guide a good one to go by?

2) For personality it suggests to spend 10-25 hours "ideally". I am more than willing to put in the time but I can't think of 10-25 hours worth of stuff to describe all the personality traits (hell, ONE hour of unique dialogue would be hard for me). Can I just repeat the same stuff over and over, would that be beneficial in any way?

3) I want to be able to hear and see my tulpa the same way I can see and hear my real life friends (i.e. with my actual physical eyes and ears) are my expectations unrealistic? How long will this take (if possible)?

Any misc. advice?

1. FAQ_man's guide is considered outdated. I would recommend reading over the guides on the forum instead. Remember that any guides are just general guidelines and shouldn't necessarily be followed to the letter. It's all about finding what works best for you.

2. That's fine. 10-25 hours is way more than you need IMO. Personality also happens to be optional, so don't worry about doing too little (since your tulpa's personality will develop naturally anyway).

3. This is possible, but that's all I can really say on the matter. Mine aren't imposed yet.

Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Whatever the case, the OG gang’s still here:

Host: fennec (they/them)

Tulpas: Alex (he/him) and Kayleigh (she/her)

1) You should probably take elements from all guides; Irish's guide is good, as are the others in the guides section of the forum.

2) It really doesn't matter how long you spend, as long as you cover what you want to well enough. The personality that you define will only be a guideline anyway; giving a rough outline in the personality stage is all that's necessary.

3) For full imposition, some time, most likely. While it's best to go in without any expectation of time passing, proper imposition takes time and effort. It is, however, perfectly doable.

1) It's an okay guide, but a bit outdated. Take some stuff from it, but don't follow it to the T. Also, go in the guide section of the forums, those are constantly updated, and written much more recently.

2)I only went for six hours, and I felt that was a bit too much. I know some people only spend ten or so minutes total on personality, so whatever works for you. And yes, repeating stuff works well, but just doing it once through and then working on other stuff could be more beneficial.

3) No, not unrealistic at all. A bunch of people have already done it. It takes a good deal of time, but depends on the person.
