I am making this thread to hopefully dispel myths and rumors on parroting and, with the communities help, clarify the subject overall.

As I'm sure most of you are aware, there are two methods mainly used to gain a vocal tulpa. The first, is simply waiting for your tulpa to give you a response. The second, involves the constant parroting your tulpa until the responses become so fluent that you no longer recognize it as parroting. Both of these methods require much narration and time, and both can lead to a fully vocal tulpa. The only difference between these two methods then; is the use of parroting.

My question is: is there any apparent difference between a tulpa created without parroting, compared to a tulpa parroted to sentience?

And then it cuts to a scene where you're sitting in a padded cell.

No, just the method you used.

Just pick whichever method works for you. I basically put off vocalization for Maia for a while, then when I was having trouble "hearing" her, I went to something similar to puppeting, I just did a few forcing sessions of "repeat after me." Parroting itself isn't inherently bad, but past a certain point it's kind of annoying for your tulpa, but that's basically when they're at ful fluency.
