Letters to Icy

So I first started this Tulpa thing 6 days ago. The first thing I did was write down traits (as many suggested). These started out as simple, one word traits like "Excitable," "Cutesy," "Cheery," etc. As I went on, they got more complicated: more like codes of behavior and personality: You are willing to change for those who love you if you love them," "You are easily distracted." I then wrote down a list of likes, dislikes, hopes, and fears: "you like trying new things," "you dislike enforcing morality," "You hope I accept you," "you fear I don't." Finally I wrote "I know you're already in there... You are, and have always been a part of me... You are everything I feel but suppress."

 

Icehail Flash, Icy for short, is a character and persona that I use throughout various forums and in rpg's and what-not. She's a unicorn pony with ice magic. When I started, she was already very well developed as a character, so it wasn't difficult to make the jump from that to Tulpa. After meditating and not being able to really focus or even get my thoughts straight on the second day, I took to writing. I'm a creative writing major, and I've been partaking in role-plays, fanfiction, and the likes for over 7 years now. So what I decided to try was to write as a form of narration. It's been vastly successful. I heard her talk on day 2, as I was writing. I'm now in day 6.

Dear Icy,

 

So... I'm learning. I took the first step. Well, 2nd step. I swear I can almost hear you, but that'd be ridiculous. It's my 1st time with this, and I think it should take a lot longer... shouldn't it? I guess it'll be easier when I get some experience.

 

I'm looking forward to this. To hearing you--seeing you. At the same time, I'm anxious--nervous. Belief is hard once broken. I'll tell you all about that, I'm sure. I'll probably love watching TV shows with you... and movies. There's nothing I love more than sharing my favorite things with people who haven't seen them yet. (So don't you dare look at those memories. It'll ruin it for me). I love you--as my creation. It's complicated, I'll explain more over time.

 

After you are fully imposed, I hope that you'll understand why I'll have to ignore you... a lot. If you're lucky, I'll make you a friend though. I have friends... not a whole lot, but enough to take up a significant amount of time. In those times, you'll learn to entertain yourself.

 

I'll keep writing you. This is my narration. I hope to see you some day.

Dear Icy,

 

Your cutie mark, as you know, is a pink heart inside a snowflake. It took me months to decide on it, and I tried at least five others before it.

 

One of my favorite shows is The Walking Dead. It's a zombie apocalypse series. I think I'll show you that one first... you know... when I can hear you better... maybe even see you. That'll be the day.

 

Is there any difference, for you, between me talking to you in thought (mind-voice) and thinking about you? That'd be weird... you reading my mind all the time---but I suppose you wouldn't be able to help it.

 

Today I thought of some other things... maybe you could help me write? Read my stuff before anyone else and give me feedback. That'd be cool.

 

Supposedly, I need to spend more time thought-forcing you. ... I say supposedly as if I don't already know it to be true. Of course I need to spend more time. It's a challenge though, after, every day, doing work work work to then also spend such a significant time doing other stuff. Maybe it'll be easier when you talk back more.

 

Today is a special day for some people. Here, we call it Valentine's Day--it's a day dedicated to couples, the same as Hearts and Hooves day in Equestria. The "Tulpamancers" on Rizon have a different spin on it. "Tulpa Appreciation Day." That's you. Maybe a year from now, if you're fully imposed, I'll treat you to something special. <3 you--creation, friend.

 

Sorry... distracted. I'm actually chatting with the Rizon peeps now.

 

In my mind are my memories. Steer clear. Maybe some day I'll show them to you. But not today. I believe that in order to make this process work better, you need to focus as much as I--perhaps more. I believe that it take two to tango. You shouldn't concern yourself with anything but what is necessary: English, voice, what you look like. You're sentient, and in time, I'll explain why I struggle to apply that fact to you in my thoughts.

 

Try this... repeat what I say and do. This is close to parroting, but it is learning. Learn through imitation. The difference is that I'm not making you perform the actions, you a choosing to perform them. That doesn't mean you shouldn't act on your own.

 

You were a lot more active yesterday... what did I do different? Oh! Tomorrow... tomorrow (if I have time) I'll meditate and then write you. I might leave soon. I'm running out of space on the page. I'll see you in dreamspace, Icy.

So... on the fourth day I had some second thoughts, so I decided to not force at all. But it didn't take long for me to go back.

Dear Icy,

 

Where are you? Thanks for giving me my space but I've made a decision and I'm sticking with you. You can come back now.

 

Sorry... I had to break a promise. I didn't remember to meditate today. All of the Rizon tulpamancers do all of this proxy talking with their Tulpas. They also mention switching and possession a lot. I want to try it. I want to see how powerful you are. I present you this challenge. At any point tonight, take over, and use me to turn my cup upside down.

 

I can't wait until your voice is vivid enough for me to show you off on the IRC. That'll be so much fun!
