Jane March 17, 2013 March 17, 2013 First, I'll go through my reasons for doing this. I am a very curious person, and the possibility that such an amazing thing can be done with our minds interests me. I'm not used to concentrating for long periods of time, to be honest, but I'm confident that it's something I can do with practice. While I'm talking about my faults, I should mention that I get scared easily, so certain parts of the tulpa making process will probably make me nervous. I'm doing it anyway. It is my third day. A bit about my tulpa in progress: His name is Elliott, and he will later take the form of a human. Most of his traits are centered around kindness and responsibility. I'm still working on personality, but I'll be sure to leave room for deviation, so that he becomes partially his own being. I've gotten no responses from him, but I can almost feel his presence in my head. I find it difficult to believe that he's there, and sentient, but I guess I'll assume he is anyway. I don't want to be a skeptic. I've read a lot of the guides, but if anyone wants to give me some tips, that'd be fine.
Lacquer March 17, 2013 March 17, 2013 leave room for deviation No. There is no such thing. Deviation will happen regardless if you have zero traits, ten traits, thirty-five traits, fifty traits, or one hundred traits. Do not "hold yourself back" in this process.
Jane March 17, 2013 Author March 17, 2013 I guess you're right. I'm not going to skimp on his personality. Thanks for pointing that out.
Jane March 20, 2013 Author March 20, 2013 I've been working on plenty of narration lately. No responses, but I still feel like I'm making progress. There's a feeling of something-there-ness, but I do forget he exists from time to time. I've created a wonderland, because that seems like a helpful tool for some people. It's a small rectangular room, surrounded on three sides by bookshelves. The fourth side is a wooden wall with a door. The door leads to a different location every time, and these locations are recorded in the books. That way, I can expand the world as much as I want, and there will still be more to see. The books can also take us back to places we've already been. So far we've found ourselves in a medieval town near a castle, a clearing in a forest with a clean pond, a city where it's always nighttime, and a large sunny plain. When we're not out exploring these places, Elliott and I sit in the two velvet chairs in the main room, facing each other, and I talk to him or visualize him in detail or whatever we're doing that day. It's the fifth day. I'll update when something new happens.
Lacquer March 20, 2013 March 20, 2013 Heh. I just realized that this thread's title makes me think of Frankenstein's Monster. Also, very interesting method of a teleportation hub. Very different fro my own.
