I've been following this guide:

http://pastebin.com/yenixUxK

It's very helpful, but I have a few questions.

1. How long should I work on personality traits and how do I know when I'm done?

I've made the list of traits and did my best to explain each one to my tulpa, but when I'm at the end of the list, do I just re-read it or move on?

2. When visualizing, should my tulpa be doing anything?

When I visualize her, sometimes she does things I'd think she'd do. However, I cant distinguish if she's doing it herself or if I'm puppeteering.

Which brings me to...

3. How can I avoid parroting and puppeteering?

The first seems kinda stupid, but sometimes I can't help myself. I only do it to have her offer me words of support. (Sounds pathetic, right?)

As for the latter, I can never tell who's controlling her movement. I don't try to visualize what she does, it just kinda flows into my mind.

It's kinda like in self-hypnosis, when you try to focus, but other thoughts come and go.

If anyone can offer me some advice, I would very much appreciate it!

Thank you!

1. when you think its done

2. if you dont literallly go "im going to make her move like this" its not puppeting.

3. its not puppeting unless you want it to be.

1. As long as you want. It doesn't matter.

2. If you want her to, I guess.

3. You can't parrot accidentally. If you're unsure, it's her.

Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Whatever the case, the OG gang’s still here:

Host: fennec (they/them)

Tulpas: Alex (he/him) and Kayleigh (she/her)

Delete all memories of those who know my awkward past

1. The idea of personality is to get a sense of who your tulpa is. Repetition isn't particularly useful, and excess detail is unnecessary because that'll likely disappear anyway, so if you've gone over everything then move on.

2. I think it's usually easier to visualise your tulpa when moving. If that's the case then by all means, make it happen.

3. Parroting/puppeting isn't inherently bad; the important thing is not to get confused. For speech, it sounds like you have a good grasp of what's you, so don't worry about that. For movement, really it's best to remember that autonymity comes gradually. Initial movement can feel non-distinct, but if you didn't intend it yourself then it's not a problem.
