Alatar June 17, 2013 June 17, 2013 I wonder whether the oculus rift virtual goggles would help with the imposition? Here's an attempt to combine kinect with virtual glasses (not oculus though). Since using the oculus can give some pretty real sensations, as the brain is tricked somewhat similarly to the rubber hand experiment, I would imagine that if you used these devices to project a 3D-model of your tulpa and look at it through the oculus, this would accustom your brain to the presence of your tulpa's form in your field of vision, and greatly accelerate the imposition process.
Kraph June 17, 2013 June 17, 2013 On the contrary, I think you would become used to visualising your tulpa flawlessly and without a single bit of concentration. That's not how you achieve anything. It might even make your tulpa feel confused because there would be that 3D model of his body and he couldn't control it. Do as you want, if you think it can help you... Well it might. Good luck !

I don't think that such generalizations necessarily apply if the mechanisms can be bypassed, but I guess that whether such stimulation accustomed the brain to the imposition and accelerated the progress, or on the contrary hindered process could only be found out by testing.
MindSeeker June 17, 2013 June 17, 2013 My first impulse is, that I'm pretty stoked about this technology, for a bit of a different reason than Alatar suggested. I think, that projecting a 3D model of your tulpa would not be an efficient training for seeing the tulpa without the glasses per se. However, it is the perfect rag doll. No more wondering how your tulpa would look in a certain position or from a certain angle - just bend the model into whatever shape you have trouble with, spend some time studying the results, and then use that as a basis for your next imposition session without the glasses. You wouldn't even need a perfect replica of your tulpa, the general body form might suffice as well. It also might be useful for the effects of different outfits or to get movements right. There are just so many possibilities! Is this a product you can get as a consumer? Does it work with a PC? Are there any non-japanese ressources about it out there?
