If she can talk to you and reply to you, just let her be and just have faith that she's sentient and treat her as sentient. The more you talk to her, she's going to develop her own schemata of sentience. It's just one of those things you keep going through implications, knowing that there will be neurological connections in order for her to develop that sentience on her own.
