If the creation of such quick progress through fear works for some, what is it for those people if not a shortcut when compared to the methods that which are slower for them? I might be missing something, but I haven't heard of such a definition of shortcut being the only accepted one (as in something that has to work for everyone).

Again, you're going by trying to sustain what little use your "if then" statements is, making other extreme cases for methods that are deemed slower for them. I have yet to see a member post in this thread to try and support your claim with Fear being a shortcut towards sentience. Note, SHORTCUT is the objective of this thread, and with simple observational analysis, fear is just one of those things doesn't stack on towards other tulpa-related activities as a beneficial aspect.

Especially when I'll talk about of a simple concept later on called the "Critical Factor" that will make your hypothesis completely useless in productivity and long-term bonding and interaction between tulpa(e) and host.

Now, there are many things that can make any method slower or downright impractical for anyone, such as (but not limited to):

  • Responsibilities in real life (especially for methods that may demand for daily and gradual successions with practice)

  • Competence in relation to Four Stages of Competence and other related psychological phenomenon in processing and connecting information together for use on a personal level

  • Mental endurance to see things through (which is a hard thing for most because with biological instincts for minimalism for things like preserving energy or sustaining only the core and basic needs rather than higher levels of thinking with self-actualization and such). Which can lead to people usually being indolent because of the classic quote "Old habits die hard."

  • And many other reasons

Now, in your reality where fear leading to faster sentience working for some, you're presuming you're able to bypass the critical factor/internal editor/guardian/etc., the conscious part of yourself that does comparative analysis on the information being processed and making an internal editing on whether or not it will be practical or not based on the current experiential totality, knowledge, belief systems, etc. a person has stored within the unconscious mind.

NOTE, the moment the critical factor sees impracticality in the means of your logic, it will most likely just edit it out of being something applicable towards a person's endeavor. It's what prevents us from being a wrecked mess altogether with all of the information we're processing in reality. Which is why you see people saying "I tried this, or I tried that," those are languages of the critical factor (in a subjective sense by the way).

Now, let's talk about simple logic with habits and predispositions made that makes new habits a bit more difficult to settle into the mind. In order for people to change themselves, be it a part of their personality, mental endurance, or whatever facet of themselves and the totality of self in general, there has to be something beneficial, a type of benefit that can sustain itself without having backlash.

The moment one would see "reverse psychology" or using "fear" to bring about sentience, ESPECIALLY when it comes to fight or flight responses, fear is something that usually doesn't bring about logic or being aware of deeper levels of thinking. It's there to just get the person out of a dangerous situation or fight back. Now, in your fantasy where fear can be a shortcut, note, I state shortcut constantly to show how it's not practical with reality, that person developing predispositions to use fear as a means for motivation all the time rather than other means (simple inspiration from other things in positive ways for instance) will make it harder to break out of those newly built predispositions.

And that's simply that the person goes through processes of twisted logic with fear to bring about competence in sensory awareness (sentience). Now, unless you think you can deal with the gradual stages of changing that new habit with your logic of fear bringing about faster sentience, by all means, use it, but you have to have unparalleled or exceptional mental endurance to get out of that barrier.

Which is why when you compare this logic with people who don't seem to want to go through that, it's not a shortcut no matter how much you try to change your wording and deviate slightly from your objective of seeing it as a potential shortcut for sentience. For the mind to go through all those biological and psychological changes all for having predispositions of using fear for faster sentience is complete rubbish and a portrayal of incompetence with how the mind filters, processes, accepts, reformat, and rejects information, concepts, beliefs, events, etc.

I don't care how much you think it works for some, in a broader sense, if it only works for some, you can easily compare that to this reality where only some things work for people who have the resources, time, and knowledge in advance to bring about faster results.

The reason why this logic is not a shortcut is because there has to be other competencies in mental endurance, intelligence, and other factors stacked ON in advance before the logic of fear leading to faster sentience is even considered, and even when it is considered, it's a heavy presumption and living in a skewed fantasy that other parts of our minds (especially the critical factor) would see any true benefit with reverse psychology on a person.

Unless you give me a process or a means rather than this fairy tale perception of "If it works for some" even though there CLEARLY ISN'T A SINGLE RESPONSE FROM OTHER MEMBERS TO SUPPORT YOUR REASONING, the idea is hopeless, useless, and completely out of practice.

And even if you gain testimonials from someone, you wouldn't want to state to newcomers or people new to this and interested in this to say you can use fear to bring about faster sentience. Because what do you think they'll think about that? No one is going to have natural predispositions to use fear as a twisted catalyst to bring about "faster sentience" for a tulpa. They'll become apathetic in the journey of making a tulpa if that's a fail-safe option or safety net for progress.

It may be probable, but that would need to be dragged out in gradual stages, and the moment it has to be dragged out, it's not a shortcut, and getting out of that habit of thinking means double work on the mind.

End.

Of.

At the end of the day, this is just a result/part of stronger emotions making tulpas form more quickly.

I subscribe to the theory that tulpas are functionally a learned skill.

It is easier to learn a skill when the process of learning that skill is more important to you or when the skill is more important to you.

Because of this, having any strong emotions about your tulpa should lead you to forming them more quickly, be this love, excitement, or fear.
