Slaeyn June 23, 2012 June 23, 2012 Okay, so at the beginning of June I first started making my tulpa. Without going too deep into detail I screwed up royally and did everything wrong, didn't dedicate enough time to sessions, ect. I work 12 hour night shifts in a psych ward so as you can guess I have little free time, and even less energy when I'm done; not that that's any excuse. So a few days ago I told my tulpa that I want to essentially start fresh, but this time we do things the right way; not the easy way. So I figured I ought to come here to ask the experts. I've created a wonderland this time, rather than trying to impose him into reality right off the bat, which I think was a mistake to try. I'll make sure I get in at least one session per day, either before I go to work or when I come home, or both if I am able. If it's a particularly calm night I will get in a session or two at work as well. I got a composition book where I've written down all of his known traits with a brief description of each. During sessions I envision my tulpa and read aloud (when able) from the book. I go over 1 trait over and over until I start to feel repetitive, then move on to the next trait. Does that sound about right? Any advise, or anything that I'm missing?
Dreamless Window June 23, 2012 June 23, 2012 The most important thing is that you feel you are doing it right. If you feel you are doing something wrong, even if it's not really wrong, it will affect negatively to your tulpa. The only important thing are: don't rush it and take your time.
Guest Anonymous June 23, 2012 June 23, 2012 There is no right way, but there are things you can do wrong. It sounds like a good system, and if it works for you then it is the right system. Only thing I might advise is to maybe scrap making a wonderland. It's all personal preference, but I found that wonderlands seem to use up too much time and energy with little benefit. For me I use a section of my dream world in place of a wonderland since it's still an abstract place for my tulpa to be, but without spending time making and maintaining a wonderland. Or you could take a mental snapshot of the room you're in, and think about your tulpa there. Another option is to just visualize your tulpa in blank space in your head. Whatever works best for you.
Bluesleeve June 23, 2012 June 23, 2012 You should try narrating all the time. When you're alone you can speak and when you're working you can keep talking to him in your mind. Narration causes the actual sentience, because it incorporates your Tulpa into your everyday life and sends a message to your unconscious. ("Hey, there's someone else I'd like to talk to!") Have you already worked on personality and/or do you know your Tulpa's character well enough? What is a Tulpa? Blog Rainbow 'Alyx' Dash Pronto

Narration causes the actual sentience, because it incorporates your Tulpa into your everyday life and sends a message to your unconscious. ("Hey, there's someone else I'd like to talk to!") Have you already worked on personality and/or do you know your Tulpa's character well enough? I used to narrate 24/7 but I've let up on it now. I would constantly talk to my tulpa and always act as though he was present, I would go out of my way to talk about random junk, and sometimes I'd be so desperate for something to say I would literally just blurt out random nonsense. Now, though, I've toned it down and only narrate when I have something I think he should really hear or know. As for personality, I'm trying to leave plenty of room for antonymous development, without being too vague that a personality isn't able to form. Right now I have 18 traits in total. I've scrapped several traits that I had originally planned because I didn't feel like they really fit him. Also, I'm trying to leave things like his likes/dislikes, favorites, or political/religious opinions up to him.
