Only problem is, Im not great at creating characters and Im worried his personality will just be a copy of my own if I parrot. Is this fear unfounded? Will he deviate on his own?

IBreakGames October 6, 2015 October 6, 2015 In my opinion, the best way to avoid that fear, or remove that fear, is to create a list of traits that you'd like them to have. They'll deviate from the list a bit, but it creates a great baseline for them to work off of. My list was about 30 traits long. You can still parrot some though, it does help with development. I'm IBreakGames, a genuine dude. We gave up on using different colors for each of us, so there's Al, Ollie, and Eva. We're all rabbits, get over it.

Guest Anonymous October 6, 2015 October 6, 2015 Well, people became much more accepting of things that were considered as taboo back in the day. Tulparomance, tulpa sex, parroting, etc... all became much more acceptable. While parroting is okay, and has been proved to have efficiency overall, and being more productive and positive than it being negative (in moderation assuredly), most other norms are completely detrimental, but this is my own opinion.

Bin October 6, 2015 October 6, 2015 I don't even call that part parroting, I consider controlling what you perceive your tulpa to be as parroting. Rather, during development, I consider "daydreaming about your tulpa" to be just that. I learned to do it in spite of FAQman's warnings, I just daydreamed about Scarlet and I learned so much about her personality that way, it ended up being a major boost for her development. I didn't even have a personality set up for her, I couldn't even think of what I really wanted. Don't worry, your tulpa most certainly will deviate and develop it's own traits. It's inevitable it'll have to change to conform to your unconscious standards for what it has to be, and then it'll just do so. It doesn't matter if you don't explicitly think up traits or not. In fact, I consider it a waste of time, as most of us don't actually know what we want, so, the tulpa will throw those unnecessary traits out anyway. So, just let it happen, I guess. Daydream about them, think of how their reactions to some situations would be, imagine them working in the real world. Just put them in situations, and try out responses, see which ones you like or not. It'll all happen really naturally, one stone after the other. To reminisce about ye olde days, I remember when falling asleeping while thinking with your tulpa would banish them to a realm of eternal nightmares. Guest Anonymous October 6, 2015 October 6, 2015 Thats what Ive been doing. I kinda decided to skimp on the full of forcing and began narrating since I already had a good idea of form in mind. Of course, talking to someone for days on end and getting little reply is kinda boring so I kept slipping and daydreaming about things we would do together once he was complete. Good to know that might actally be helping since I still had FAQmans guides in mind when I started. If I remember FAQman correctly, I dont think he liked what we were doing or why we were doing it. He was just trying to control any damage we might do to ourselves since we were going to do it anyway. I think his main bit of advice was always "Dont."
