Tsu December 19, 2016 Author December 19, 2016 Well yes I guess less urban legend and more a story that demonstrates what function Tulpas served for buddhism. How do you mean by western tulpamancy? I'm confused now x) Yep, he's still going strong in that department. After a few sessions of just visualising him morphing into different forms we've (I think probably temporarily) settled on the form of a red panda. Something similar to this but his form is more psychadelic when I visualise him. His fur flows and everything drifts in all directions.
tulpa001 December 19, 2016 December 19, 2016 Western tulpamancy is what we here refer to as tulpamancy. It is based on western spiritualism and, well, hippy counterculture stuff. It has ties to eastern philosophy just as western spiritualism and the hippy movement has ties to eastern philosophy. However. The influence of western philosophy is probably greater. The central tenet probably is the belief that tulpas are persons. Which is probably a divergence from the eastern approach. In western tulpamancy, you are seen to need to respect the tulpa's individuality, and treat them as friends, not tools. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.
