Will making a tulpa affect my mental health

Thanks, even though you're not supposed to make characters, is it safe if they are not an EXACT copy of that said character?

 

I think it might depend on how well you know the character's personality.

 

I think the main reason for avoiding existing characters is they (the tulpa) might have an identity crisis or try to live up to the character they're based on.

 

If, for example, you have no idea what the character's personality is like (such as a character from a show you have never watched), I think that wouldn't affect the tulpa's personality. If it does, I'm willing to bet the effect would be less than if you had tried to make an exact duplicate of an existing character that you know well.
