Oblong July 26, 2016 July 26, 2016 I've known about tulpas for quite some time now. I've even tried asking mentors to help me, but I guess I'm not too good at following directions. I've tried to meditate and do a ton of other stuff to create a tulpa, but nothing was working for me. Anyways, a few days ago, I had a spur of the moment thought, and I just sort of talked with myself in my head, pretending that one voice was my tulpa and the other was mine. It's been about 4 days now, and I find it easier to talk with my tulpa, but am I actually talking with him, or is it just me talking to myself? I don't really understand how this works, but I truly want to. If this isn't the way to go about creating a tulpa, can someone inform me what I am doing right and wrong? Also, feel free to ask me as many questions as possible. Thank you!
KarlYoshimura July 26, 2016 July 26, 2016 It sounds like you're on the right track - one item of general agreement regarding tulpas is to assume sentience from the very beginning. While I'm inclined to think "pretending" to talk to your tulpa is counter-productive, I think you can take to and refine the procedure, as evidenced by your eased sense of communication with him. Although he may not yet have the capacity to respond to or understand you, I think the more comfortable and enhanced mode of discussion is his way of accepting and realising that you're talking to him. Have you considered picking out a guide you might like? If not, I think you would both enjoy narration, the practise of talking to your tulpa by means of one-sided conversation (like you've been doing) or more in-depth measures like reading entire lengths of text to your tulpa. Done correctly, it can be a boon to his development of speech. Either way, keep it up. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me here or via private messaging if you require assistance. This life of games and diligent trust, it's the things we do and the things we must. I'm now tired of being cussed, so go sleep forever, end to dust. -Crystal Castles, VANISHED
