[split] Dead Discord groups

I have had several people approach me in PMs wondering if I would be their mentor. This has happened a few times in just recent weeks. Why are they approaching me? They are approaching me, and they tell me this explicitly, because I am very active on the forum. It's not because I am in a focus group or mentorship group. It is because I am visibly active and present on the forum.

This is all well and good, but Mysterious Lad made this thread to advertise his Discord group, not to argue about how to save the forum. Maybe you guys could take this someplace else?

My point was about why the Discord groups are not working.  If they want the Discord groups to have members, they need to be active on the forum so that there will be interest in the Discord groups.  That was my point and it was on topic.  

 

There are new people asking questions on the forum.

But it's easier to open up to a mentor than a group or forum.

 

So far we're having a different experience. I think it depends on who is part of the group.

 

And Mistgod, we've now got a decent number of people, I'm not complaining about numbers though. Every person that is aided through this makes it worth it. This about dying groups or what not.
