TheCaptainGibbs July 29, 2012 July 29, 2012 First off, I'd like to apologize if I posted this in the wrong place or created a duplicate thread. I've never really used forums before. O: Hey, I'm new. I've read the guides on how to create a Tulpa but I'm still confused. :x I'd like to know where (and how) to start first. Like, should I do meditation or not, start with personality or what... I'd really appreciate some help, thanks! C:
TulpaCouple July 29, 2012 July 29, 2012 Personality generally comes first, but do what comes naturally for you. Really struggling with where to start? Introduce yourself to your tulpa and introduce your tulpa to themselves. Give them a brief description of who they are and what they are like and tell your tulpa about how much fun you are going to have together. Get used to treating your tulpa like another being. Meditation is nothing other than a focusing tool. You don't need to meditate to focus, but if it helps, awesome
Phi July 29, 2012 July 29, 2012 It really doesn't matter where you start, but it is generally agreed that personality is the first major stage. If you do visualization first, you'll still get to the goal eventually. You could even impose your tulpa and then work on personality and sentience, if that's your cup of tea. These are the only restrictions: Visualization comes before imposition Personality comes before sentience

So, can I tell them about themselves etc. without them being there yet? Should I give them a name when I first start talking to them?
SolEvil July 29, 2012 July 29, 2012 As TC stated, personality generally comes first. Always talk to your tulpa like they are another person. Tell your tulpa it's personality like your having a conversation with him/her/it. EDIT: Try to imagine that they are there, you don't have to give them a name though. I imagined my tulpa as an outline of a person at first, and just talked to it.
Guest applesauce99 July 29, 2012 July 29, 2012 the title to this thread makes me want to say "I've fallen and I can't get up!"... Myprocess is personality first, then form and narration.
TheCaptainGibbs July 29, 2012 Author July 29, 2012 Thanks for the help so far guys. How would I make it sentient and able to talk to me? I'm still a little foggy on the whole concept. :x
Guest applesauce99 July 29, 2012 July 29, 2012 Narration is big on getting your tulpa to talk back, as it conditions your mind/tells your tulpa that it is a seperate being.
