Hidari October 3, 2016 October 3, 2016 Hey there, So, brief introduction, I'm currently working on making my tulpa, Bailey, however I've been wondering about whether or not a tulpa could potentially help me with lost memories. I have a really hard time remembering events that happened in my past, like before Sophomore year. My old therapist thought I had some form of dissociative amnesia from some form of trauma in my past. She was going to try EMDR to help me with this, however things fell through with her and I don't see her anymore. It's really upsetting when I can't recall things that my mom or others talk about happening, or even remembering simple things such as what my old houses looked like. So, since then I've been at a sort of stand still, since I can't recall my memories, and I'm unsure why I can't remember things. Most of my memories are simply extremely vague recollections of what happened in general, like, just a simple statement of what happened with no details attached. I think I explained that well, if not I can provide further clarification if needed. Anyways, I was wonder if when Bailey becomes independent, she would be able to help me regain memories. I'd really like to be able to remember what happened, just for ease of mind and so I don't feel like there's a gap anymore. If I did do this, I don't think I'd just have Bailey help me with this immediately, as I don't want her exposed to memories she can't handle early on. So; Is this possible? Can a tulpa recall memories that my brain may have dissociated? Is it safe to go about regaining memories in this manner? If there is trauma that I've forgotten, could it harm Bailey when she finds out? I doubt the trauma is anything big, I can't think of anything really bad that would have happened. However I still can't be sure of that I guess. Thanks for any advice you can give ^^
Kiahdaj October 3, 2016 October 3, 2016 Some people have claimed that their tulpas were able to aid with memory recall, although in most cases, I have seen it as more general fact-like knowledge than remembering events and situations. I would say that it is possible, but I wouldn't count on it. That goes for significant memory recall in general. I don't consider the odds much more likely than remembering them on your own. I don't see any reason that recalling memories in such a way would be unsafe. I wouldn't worry about your tulpa being harmed by traumatic memories. I don't imagine it would be all that different than if you didn't forget them in the first place. If you can deal with the memories, I don't think it would be very difficult for the tulpa to, as well. "If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."
