For those of your not familiar (or overly familiar) with the idea of larping/live-action-roleplaying: Most people probably think of it as guys running around in a forest with foam swords. My brand of the activity is more like acting out an improv skit but with pre-designed characters. So that's how I'm defining it here.

I'm curious about your guy's thoughts on the subject. Here's ours:

I've larped as Rosty before and after I realized he could be categorized as a tulpa, but I don't really consider it possession. But then again, I've experienced some rather tulpa-like phenomenon while larping, like having words coming out of my mouth without thinking about it that surprised me, and having rather extreme emotional reactions to things that normally wouldn't bother me. But then AGAIN, these things have happened for the (presumably) non-tulpa OCs of mine as well as Rosty.

As for Rosty's opinion: "I don't really care either way. From what I've heard of the full and complete possession described around here, it sounds like way too much effort. As long as I can interact with what I care about. If I HAD to give a real answer, perhaps my host's larping has us sharing the work 50/50? Full possession would probably have me putting in effort closer to 100%, but since I have never done it, I don't really know."

I almost gave up on tulpas after deciding I was happy with my semi-sentient OCs the way they were. Then one of them decided he'd be a tulpa anyway and I pretty much had no choice.

Host/Mun: Micah. They/them. Born 12/13/1995

(Official) Tulpa: Rosty (Rostislav). Him/his. Born (irl) mid Sept '16. (Canon: winter of 1986)

Different. A tulpa is completely capable of larping. Possession is solely taking over the body. No role, no playing. They may then proceed to larp if they wish.

Now, just because these are different things, does not mean there is nothing tulpa like about larping. If you are good at it, you may end up controlled by an IIA character. A character who behaves autonomously, but does not qualify as a tulpa.

Related terms that also don't count as larping are eclipsing, where you are being influenced into behaving a certain way by another. and proxying, where you are allowing another to tell you what to do.

Strange

I was thinkin of that lately, I said to my self when I'm in a lucid dream I will search for my tulpa as always, but when i find him we become as one . ( like a cartoon called vultron)

I mean he will enter my body , so from his ultimate power and freedom he will effect my real world.

Like his own.
