glitchthe3rd August 23, 2012 August 23, 2012 Yes, in fact there are already some psychologists who utilize something very similar to tulpaforcing to treat their patients. Something about giving a man a fish or teaching him to fish... Also I use mine to help me manage my autism. I've been off my meds for two years now and made dean's list at my university last quarter, so that's a resounding success in my book. Frosty August 23, 2012 August 23, 2012 I've wondered about that for a while. Supposedly tulpa created with the intention of being an already existing character or person can have some sort of identity crisis. Is this something that is bound to happen? Has it only happened a few times and now no one is risking it, even though it isn't necessarily a doomed process? Aside from the creepypasta, has anyone actually made a tulpa of themselves? Or was that enough to subtly destroy interest in actually doing it? I have no idea to either of those questions. But I have to assume with how much time and effort it takes to create a tulpa, that people aren't inclinded to doom themselves to failure from the get-go. Hmm, I suppose that one might be unable to focus if they were that grief ridden, preventing tulpa formation from even occurring. Hmmmmm, now that I've thought about it for a while, in my experience, harboring high levels of negative emotions can cause a tulpa to be distraught to the point of spasticly lashing out without meaning to... repeatedly. Hmmm if one could manage to not let their grief spill into the creation process in large quantities, then it could work, though I'm seeing more problems with it now. Well, I was talking about an already created tulpa just being blocked from being able to communicate with their creator. Creating a tulpa under those conditions, if you could even concentrate enough to do it, would probably result in something...I dunno...not good. I should also mention (again) I have no proof of any of this, I'm just going off of what I've read in the guides combined with my own theories. Not an expert here.
