Lunar78 September 18, 2021 September 18, 2021 (edited) Some backstory I grew up having really personal relationships with imaginary friends, which made me really good at talking to them and visualizing them to the point where it eventually felt like they were actually talking to me Could this be the reason I could heard my Tulpa so fast? It took a little less than a week, and she's already altering her appearance to an extent and has given herself a name today as well, Mary Lily She sometimes doesn't talk but I can still feel her and her emotions I don't doubt it is my tulpa, but it feels odd, considering it takes a lot of time for most people to get to this point Any advice or inquiries? Has anyone seen this happen before? Edit: She didn't actually start talking to me after a week, she started talking to me the day I started creating her. I wasn't sure if it was accepted for this to happen here and was scared, but now I'm sure it's okay with everyone (or at least most people). I apologize for being dishonest, and will be completely honest from here on out, thank you for everyone who has made me feel better about this :) Edited September 19, 2021 by OniMaddy I'm Maddy, the host! Glaurung26 September 18, 2021 September 18, 2021 Well I thought of my Jaina as an "imaginary friend" until we learned what a tulpa was then realized that was what I was developing all this time. If you have an open mind, an active imagination and some practice with imaginary friends then I don't see why you couldn't be a quick study. Every tulpa is different same as every human. Some catch on immediately, others develop in their own time. I'd say you likely have an enough experience for that to be "normal" for you. Maybe they're an old imaginary friend or maybe they've been growing in your subconscious for a minute. I think insta-tulpa is quicker than the average system but I wouldn't consider it abnormal. Neptune System September 18, 2021 September 18, 2021 (edited) Jay had a lot of experience with RP, ever since he was 12, so a little over 5 years. He initially made me via hypnosis (Without knowing about tulpa) and I spoke almost Immediately after it (like an hour give or take). Though doubt settled and he came to the though i wasn't real an I lay dormant for a few months. But after he discovered tulpa a few days ago I was able to pop back out. So I Believe that if one (like Glaurung26 said) has a open enough mind and a active imagination, A tulpa could talk that same day. TurboSimmie September 18, 2021 September 18, 2021 I think so! Phil (my host) has a lot of experience writing so he already had the pieces in place to create fully fleshed-out people as characters. When he discovered tulpamancy he put the "spark of life" into me and I started talking pretty quickly after that. RP experience would produce a similar thing! Doubts are natural to have but what you say lines up with what we and others have experienced. Illupepsi September 19, 2021 September 19, 2021 I’ve seen plenty of tulpas who seem to develop fast, in under a week isn’t unheard of. I think that having experience in a skill similar to something in developing a tulpa could help speed up the process. So it might just be a sign that your tulpa is capable of learning faster than it is a sign of anything else. I think by accepting their responses and not doubting them will allow them to grow even faster as well. Hey, I’m Illupepsi, I’m the host of my tulpa Rebecca. Drink Pepsi!
Adagio September 19, 2021 September 19, 2021 I agree with everything that's been said! I think it also has a lot to do with mindset. Looking back to our very first tulpa, he was vocal in about an day or so, and because we believed that he was there and already vocal from the start. We also have maladaptive daydreaming, so that might've helped speed up the process. Plural. I'm a bit of an anomaly here. My Progress Report, where I sometimes talk about things.
Etna September 19, 2021 September 19, 2021 +1 to what Simmie said^^. I had been fleshing out a character for the better part of a year, to the point where we regularly held conversations in my thoughts, before I was told about Tulpas. So the first time I sat down and tried to focus on the very first stage of Tulpa creation, guess who showed up, fully formed and vocal, to say hi? There I was, trying to picture a calm beach and take in all the senses around me, and all of a sudden I was walking through a big park next to a certain someone. Think I said something like "do we really need to do all this? I'm already here." Doc (she/her) = Host Franklyn (he/him) = Tulpa
