The Boys and Tulpamancy [S3 Spoilers]

So in Season 3 Episode 7 of the Boys we get Black Noir's backstory and his imaginary friends are talking him through some stuff. It got me wondering, are those tulpas? Or some other kind of headmate or manifestation?

I was wondering the same thing when watching it. It's more in that kind of area than, say, (Marvel's) Venom - because Venom is a physical entity that other people can see when he so chooses, but when he's just hiding in Eddie's brain there are some similarities. Sort of. Tulpas aren't alien symbiotes, after all.

Right. Kind of like how guardian angels and pixies/fairies/Jimminy Cricket are represented in media. They're "fictional" until the plot decides other characters can see them.
