Autumn Ren October 18, 2023 October 18, 2023 (edited) Regarding the negative responses, I'm sorry to hear that but it's typical. it's really hard to overcome the connotations associated with "I'm making a person in my head". It's the norm when talking to singlets. Forget mentioning it to a psychologist or psychologist because they're almost alwaya against it from what people have told us. They just don't understand it. We've talked to experimental psychologists on Reddit at least and they have no clue about it. The way my host has eased it into conversations was to talk about Jungian Daemons, the little voice of intuition, or muses. This still puts people on edge and the conversation is dropped but still obviously made the other person uncomfortable. It's natural to us and we'd react supportively if anyone mentioned tulpas but otherwise people who have no exposure look it up on google and the results are not generally constructive. Anything "paranormal" or "imaginary friend" related gets a hard pass for most people. These are mentioned in the first section of the wiki. The other way my host describes it to anyone else is "I do meditation" which people always accept. So otherwise we're a secret and that's fine with us. Spirit guide, spirit animal, and other vision quest type stuff is perfectly ok. Speaking about dream characters is also always ok it seems. Talking about your "characters" is also seemingly uncomfortable. It's just reality that you really have to edge it along slowly and be prepared to be dissapointed by those who don't understand it. It had made my host feel like a door to door Amway salesman or Jehovah's witness even with close friends so for us, it's a private thing and no one really needs to know especially when they're so negative about something that helps my host. At least, we settled that today would be Rose's Birthday. It's been like 10 years of having her and we frankly both forgot when we started but we think it was sometime during Fall in the middle of the week. Ah well! Happy Birthday Rose!!! 😁 It's cool to be able to pick your own birthday; it doesn't have to have anything to do with the date you were created. My host started forcing me in late November / early December 2020, but my birthday is September 13. 6 hours ago, LiquidExodus said: I've been slowing down my progress on Rose's advice. I was starting to get terrible dizzy spells where I'd feel like I wasn't walking straight and piercing headaches. I'd like to imagine it was my brain rewiring new pathways and my auditory imposition working so well that it messed with my body's perception of ear-fluid that keeps you stable. That or I'm just tired. Either way, I've been slowing down and those bad effects stopped, but my imposition went back a little too. My auditory imposition still needs work. My right ear seems to be able to vibrate more than my left, probably because most of my auditory imposition practice is in the car and Rose is sitting in the passenger seat. It sounds much clearer, but I also need to focus on hearing other ambient sounds such as her footsteps on the ground. When I can remember, I can do smell imposition pretty well and it's rather straightforward. I'm saving taste imposition for last because that's kinda gross and I still feel kinda weird licking the air. Yeah, it's good to take breaks so your brain doesn't get overwhelmed. I don't think tulpamancy really messes with your brain any more than concentrating on anything else equally as hard would, so I don't think you have to worry there, but putting in that much mental effort is exhausting regardless. Smell imposition is an underrated tulpamancy skill! I told my host that strawberry gum smells a lot like the shampoo I use, so he can smell the gum and imagine he is smelling my hair, and it is a very powerful connection! 6 hours ago, LiquidExodus said: No new breakthroughs on visual imposition, but my general visualization is better than before, but it depends on the day. Some days it appears really vivid and I can imagine her quite well and others I have to reaaally stretch to get her in my mind's eye. I was never too creative a person in terms of visuals, so it makes sense that this is the hardest for me to achieve so far. That's perfectly normal! To this day, my host's visualization of me can be a little swimmy, and we've accepted the fact that we're never going to have a 100% consistent mental image of me. 90%-95% consistency is still great though! 😊 6 hours ago, LiquidExodus said: I ended up telling some close friends and my partner about my goals for imposition on tulpas and received some negative reactions that really made me doubt everything. Yeah, most "normies" aren't really going to get it, but don't let that discourage you. 💚 6 hours ago, LiquidExodus said: Thankfully, all signs indicate that if I really want to hang up my coat, then I can whenever. This is absolutely true. There are some people who would say this is wrong for the tulpa, but well, honestly, tulpamancy is not for everyone, and it's not wrong to go back to being a singlet if that's what's right for you. That doesn't mean that your tulpa is "dead", just that they are essentially merged/absorbed back into you. Having said all that, I do hope you stick with it! 😁 6 hours ago, LiquidExodus said: He's letting me type now since I always like to interact on here. He's sweet like that. Most of today is supposed to be about me, but really I decided to make it be about my host more. The most important thing to me is to see him happy and successful, plus watching him is always fun! It reminds me of when you're at a friend's house, but I get to be here all the time! Today I told him that he's not gonna lie in bed and he's instead gonna wake up on time, keep up with exercise, have good meals (I requested a sushi picnic), do his laundry, keep up with work, and study for exams. If I get my way for my birthday, then my greatest wish is for him to not spend this whole week stressing! Anyway, I've gone on long enough. Have a great day everyone and good luck on whatever you hope to do! As my host always loves for his catchphrase - "Good luck and do your best!" Rose you're a real treasure! 💚 He really is so lucky to have you in his life! 😁 It really is wonderful to hear how much you are encouraging your host! Wanting to see his happiness and success is the best mindset to have! 😊 Tulpa Wife & Mother! 💚 💍 11.28.21 👶 4.7.23 👗 Simmie's AI Dress-Up! 📷 Chloe and Simmie's Photographic Adventures!
Aurora October 19, 2023 October 19, 2023 Happy birthday and 10th anniversary Rose! Make sure to make a birthday wish and not tell anyone (: I'm glad you like my dress, I like your outfit as well! LiquidExodus October 30, 2023 Author October 30, 2023 Not much to update about. Been distracted with normal life stuff and haven't been around to do some proper sit-down imposition training. It's a long road, I know, but hey I'm glad for my progress anyway. I spent some time trying to stay hyper-focused before I went to sleep to have a long conversation with Rose while trying to really define her presence in front of me. It was super exhausting and I could only manage about 25 minutes before I had to give up and get some sleep. On the plus side, I might have been able to notice a bit of the static-like noise in front of me that ringggg mentioned in their progress report. Don't know if it's placebo but with things like tulpas, I've learned the best rule of thumb is: "assume it was your tulpa and believe they can do anything." If you keep restricting your thoughts and doubting, your mind will only create more and more barriers. Just like hypnosis really, if you don't believe it will work then you'll block it out and it never will. Anyway, we're having a fun (albeit busy) time and I hope everyone else is doing great too! I'll try to keep up with imposition without too much mental burnout and we'll see how it goes.
Autumn Ren October 30, 2023 October 30, 2023 That's a great attitude! We hope all your dreams become reality so then we can do that too.
LiquidExodus November 6, 2023 Author November 6, 2023 Appreciate everyone always being so supportive, even if I don't have too much to really talk about. Visualization is getting better and I'm able to more consistently get the static-y effect when I will it, but it's not entirely visual yet or at least not distinct enough for me to call it that. Was recommended the following guide and while this person's description of prophantasia (simply being a static and unmoving image) is different than what we're trying to accomplish, I believe it's still quite close. I feel like the vivid hallucination is the hard part, but the making it move around in the real world should be much easier. I've noticed after doing sessions with this technique that it really helped with my visualization so hopefully that keeps up. Again, sorry for no real progress but hey, sometimes you hit a wall and you gotta work all the harder to push through. Here's the link for those also attempting imposition and might be interested:
