How do you differentiate between intrusive thoughts and your tulpa actually speaking?

Recommended Posts

I'm currently at a very early stage of tulpa development where I can only hear my tulpa if I active force and clear my mind. But I have a hard time discerning between what are just thoughts popping in my head and my tulpa actually speaking. How can you tell the difference between intrusive thoughts and your tulpa actually speaking?

For early vocality, you're basically shaping what your tulpa should say and sound like with your intent/expectations, as well as decisions on what is not them vs what is. At the very start there's probably not even anything to go off of but to intend to be talking to your tulpa-to-be and accepting what comes to mind as them (within reason). As long as you're thinking of these things as coming from your developing tulpa, your brain should start to create the connections that make them up over time, eventually (time really varies by person) sounding and feeling more like themselves, having a more consistent personality and more in-depth thoughts and conversations and all. (Well, this could happen pretty fast, but it can also take a while)

Bigger post of mine on early vocality

And possibly related, post of mine on "worrying about parroting"

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
