I am a newbie in this field. I really want a Tulpa. I have read many websites about Tulpa, but it is really difficult for me. Tulpa is not popular in my country, and when I talked to people about Tulpa, they thought I had mental problems.
How can I create a Tulpa?
When I searched Tulpa on my youtube, it came up with horror stories. Is Tulpa really that scary and dangerous?

The term "tulpa" often gets used in supernatural contexts and so paranormal stories and creepypastas are made about them sometimes

In tulpamancy though, we simply borrowed the term "tulpa" as it was somewhat similar to the original idea, however "tulpas" as we know them are not meant to be the same as the original religious or supernatural ones

There are many guides on this website to learn about creating tulpas, but otherwise, just some simple guidelines are all you need:

Focus on the idea of another person in your head who you're creating

Think of them as existing and wanting to listen to you and speak to you

Practice talking to them (in your head) expecting them to be listening, and believe they will try to respond to you as they become able to

If you can't hear thoughts as words or see images in your head, then you might have the somewhat rare case of "aphantasia", which makes tulpamancy harder to learn via guides and advice from others. It might still be possible just through thoughts and feeling if so. But you can know by whether you obviously can visualize imagery in your mind or not

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

There's a lot of creepypasta and horror stories about tulpas, they're based in fiction.

All a tulpa is is a thought form, like a character or dream character that you spend a lot of time developing until they appear autonomous. Then further time spent with them until they're independent. Once they're independent they can potentially switch with "you" in the body you share. You are in essence developing an equal personality to the one you currently have.

In doing this, you gain two main advantages: you're somewhat immune to loneliness and you gain an independent perspective that can see you for who you really are. That's very useful for self-help.

The other advantages and perks are uncountable. The negative side is you will understand quickly that it will always have to be a secret if you don't want plurality used against you by professionals, family, friends and partners.

We've kept it secret for over 6 years and have not found a downside.
