Oedura November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 Hello! I am relatively new to the whole concept of thoughtforms, and I come here seeking some guiding advice. See, I was informed of tulpas by a friend recently, and I was not in the least bit surprised at their existence, as for a few months, I have been able to picture entities around me as if they existed right before my eyes, complete with smell, touch, sound, and environmental interaction, which, as I understand, is one of the key steps to tulpa creation. I suppose this means that manifesting a thoughtform should be relatively easy for me, but I have some reluctance given the minimal amount of research conducted on the topic. I would greatly appreciate advice on whether or not to follow through with creating a tulpa, for though the idea intrigues me, insanity seems too closely paired with the final outcome for me to leap before I look.
Dreamless Window November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 This question has been answered so many times... Sigh... Insanity(schizophrenia)= now knowing what's real, losing control. Tulpa= You know what's real, and you and your tulpa have complete control over it. Oh, and by the way, welcome.
Oedura November 15, 2012 Author November 15, 2012 Thanks! My real concerns lie with doing it /wrong/, but if I follow the guides I suppose I should be fine.
Dreamless Window November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 The only way to do it wrong is by making it with only negative emotions, and a deep hate for you; and even then, I doubt it would be THAT bad (it would probably get in your field vision while you drive, though; so remember: if your tulpa wants to kill you, don't drive).
Lolimancer November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 I'm not entirely sure by now that everything your tulpa can do has to be given explicit permission to be done by the host. Inclusing, like, sudden hand possession, or hijacking one's vision by making it all blurry (right Alice?). But yeah, they tend to be good fellows if they don't show up after you've been raped in your childhood or something.
Oedura November 15, 2012 Author November 15, 2012 Don't think I'll have to worry about that, then. I'll start a log as soon as I begin the process. Gulp.
Merc November 16, 2012 November 16, 2012 Don't let the log get in the way of forcing though, expecting progress by x amount of hours is a danger, especially in the beginning stages. However, if you could already impose beings like you said, I wouldn't worry anyway. A lot better than what I can do, and I thought I had an edge because I'm a writer and lucid dreamer. Tulpa's name: Xina I had something witty to write here, but when I wrote it down I realized it was only witty inside my head.
Guest EnnervateIndustries November 16, 2012 November 16, 2012 Unless you have deep-seated emotional problems, your tulpa will like you, since they can feel everything you do. Also on the topic of hourcounts, do not log hours. It will most likely make you push away your tulpa because you are expecting differently from them, which is intensely aggravating for them. Think of it as a journey instead of an assembly line. A progress journal is a good idea, though, since it lets you collect your thoughts and reflect on your progress. I keep a log, but just write about how long I forced so that I can know what I need to do for the next day.
Guest Albatross_ November 16, 2012 November 16, 2012 This question has been answered so many times... Sigh... You're beginning to understand. Insanity(schizophrenia)= now knowing what's real, losing control. Minor point, but that's actually psychosis. Schizophrenia is a much more serious mental disease.
Virgil November 16, 2012 November 16, 2012 I'm not entirely sure by now that everything your tulpa can do has to be given explicit permission to be done by the host. Your uncertainty is completely understandable; in fact, tulpas don't usually need any permission whatsoever unless they really, really believe they do, and even then it's still a problematic question. You just have to rely on their being considerate and their healthy disinclination to do anything stupid. Bayesian inference
