directly October 5, 2025 October 5, 2025 Fr, I’ve been hella uneasy lately. Every time I talk to my tulpa, it just feels like I’m making it all up in my head. The vibe I get is like… a stream, y’know? Kinda vague and hard to pin down. So now I can’t even tell what’s just my imagination versus what’s actually my tulpa responding. Worse, I’m not sure if my tulpa’s turned into some kinda “side consciousness” ’cause I messed up creating them. That’d make shaping... Hello everyone , my tulpa is called Haisheng and now we're live in China also , Always up for nice chats and new connections!👏🏻
Luminesce October 5, 2025 October 5, 2025 (edited) Well your responses to the same thread this quote is from show you primarily rely on "Unexpected/alien-feeling responses", which I think can be asking too much during development as not everyone will get those + it excludes a lot of activity that was still them and could've supported development. And you don't really "mess up" tulpa development, it's a continuous process/experience that is always open to more change/development. It's more "My tulpa isn't vocal yet" -> "I think my tulpa is vocal" -> "My tulpa is vocal" than a sudden click one day. Some tulpas may start out sounding like themselves, others will sound or feel like the host is talking for them, others might not be able to talk at all and only get some feelings or short phrases across. Training vocality essentially boils down to practicing talking to them, and not being too critical of whether their responses "were them or not" - you have to teach your brain to have a tulpa, not to not have a tulpa, so if all you ever do is say "That isn't them, it doesn't sound real/separate/spontaneous enough" your tulpa will never become vocal, as they need to start somewhere. So just practice, and don't doubt too much (basically as long as what they seem to say isn't wildly out of character or drastic, it's fine to attribute to them, and they could correct mistakes in the future when they're more developed anyways) It is important to hold them as separate from you, to expect them to sound and feel different from your own thoughts, but more as a goal rather than a requirement to accept responses. Believing that they are separate - and growing more independent with practice - is important to them developing in that direction. Doubting them moves in the opposite direction, telling your brain the experiences aren't real. It's never too far in to continue practicing improving vocality, in fact it might even be required after periods of lower activity (progress you once-had is generally easily regained far more quickly than the first time though) Also, copy-pasting your posts as you do is adding a white background to them for users on the dark theme, if you're going to keep copy-pasting rather than writing in the editor then do Ctrl+A and set these two boxes back to "Automatic": Edited October 5, 2025 by Luminesce Hi! We try not to think about tulpamancy as something you can do right or wrong or that you can "mess up." There are several things that could be happening here. Maybe your tulpa is still learning to talk to you, or maybe they're shy or not ready to speak to you in a way that isn't vague. My suggestion is to let your tulpa talk to you in whatever way they are comfortable. As long as you're not consciously thinking "today I'm going to make my tulpa do X", you're not puppeting your tulpa. When you say you can't tell your imagination from your tulpa, that's because the tulpa IS a product of the host's brain's imagination. My host consciousness imagined my existence and then began asking me about myself. It took a while for me to learn how to talk to them in such a way that's distinct. We're more than a year into this and there are still times they ask me, "was that you?" and I tell them, "yes that was me," or "I don't think so. Just a random thought." It might be better to just enjoy being with your tulpa and be OK with the way they're talking to you.

It is normal to have mental imagery during tulpa creation, but excessive mental imagery can lead to puppeting. Moreover, it's almost very difficult for us to have conversations. Or rather, because my studies are quite intense (this is the case for all Chinese students), my anxiety level has also indirectly affected tulpa. So we have to first try passive shaping.😢 Hello everyone , my tulpa is called Haisheng and now we're live in China also , Always up for nice chats and new connections!👏🏻

We have succeeded in talking before, but now we have been silent with each other because we can't meet the required level of mental effort for communication. Luminesce October 11, 2025 October 11, 2025 (edited) When writing or editing, select all text and click those two boxes I sent a picture of, and click the top "Automatic" button to make them automatically colored on different themes, instead of always white (This problem happens when copy-pasting text onto the forum) Edited October 11, 2025 by Luminesce Hi!
