Lostt October 13, 2025 October 13, 2025 So i just heard a out what a tulpa was literally yesterday, but i think i have two..? Ever since 2019 i had this two voices i kind of created when i was feeling a bit lonely, but im not so sure if They're tulpas or not, since it still feels like i control them, they do have their own physical forms, names and everything though, but they mostly interact with each other, reacting to what's happening in my own life, they don't talk with me too much, not like they can't, but it's more between each other, they also usually leave if im talking to a friend (not always) and now im really confused to what they could be, any idea? Also sorry if my english is not good, not my first language.
Luminesce October 13, 2025 October 13, 2025 (Your text is hard to read on the Dark theme, better to leave it uncolored or paste without formatting) If they're aware of the world and able to talk to you then they probably qualify as tulpas, but there's just not a strict exact-existence-of-tulpa, because brains are complex things and the experiences we can have are very subjective. (The short version - you could make them more clearly into tulpas by thinking of them as tulpas) While the human brain seems to have an aptitude for simulating other people and potentially creating its own purely internally existing ~people, that still doesn't mean that it's one cut and dry experience that everyone will have the same way. It can still vary in countless ways based on how you think about them/how you think they work (as well as being influenced by trauma as with DID, or mental disorders you may have like schizophrenia, etc.) But also, your experience can be shaped through your beliefs and expectations (including otherwise already-ongoing mental phenomena, slowly reshaped or developing further), meaning you're not necessarily locked into the way your experiences presently are. Again, TL;DR you can make your headmates more tulpa-like (as in working more like you see people describe on the forum or such), or not, just doing your own unique thing. As long as your experience seems to qualify as tulpa-like or generally plural it's still fine to talk about them here even if it doesn't exactly line up with others' ("Singlets"/non-plural members are totally fine too, I just mean e.g. we don't want people who are just roleplaying talking about their experiences like they're relevant to tulpamancy. Roleplaying with the intention to create tulpas/while thinking of the characters as independent from you does tend to end up creating tulpas though, so don't worry about doing it "on accident" or anything) Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
