placeholder321 November 14, 2025 November 14, 2025 Alright so i basically just got here from tiger123 and im wondering is like getting into any of this like actually kinda worth it? I have too much free time and i wanna quit gaming to do something "useful" instead and i mean becoming a literal lowercase god seems cool as shit Ive always saw myself as a creative kiddo growing up and ive been trying imposition for the past few days with moderate success I think i have enough free time and sanity for this Should i maybe do something first like maybe try making a servitor before a tulpa is one easier to make then the other? Should i try imposing first or making a servitor? Should i actually do any of these? Gimme some advice yall have Every reply is appreciated! :)
Luminesce November 14, 2025 November 14, 2025 We don't really teach anything involving servitors here, some members just do that on their own Imposition technically doesn't have to have anything to do with tulpamancy, you could practice it as a skill on its own along the lines of visualization, if you wanted (outside of tulpamancy, where it's very rare, it'd be called "prophantasia") And uhh, don't really know what you mean by "becoming a literal god". It's an entirely internally contained experience, even though I believe human brains have a built-in ability to do this sort of thing, I don't think it's anything other than a psychological phenomenon. The effects on you could be good (like tulpa encouraging you in life, or helping cope with loneliness (but not cure it)), or not, if you're prone to invasive thoughts/imagined things (ie with schizophrenia, though a good number of people with less severe cases seem to consider tulpamancy a positive experience - experiences will vary, but I wouldn't recommend it as there's increased potential to fall for invasive thoughts and letting them distress you) Also don't know if I'd call it doing something useful :P As useful as having another person in your head to talk to - sharing your same brain - is. Tulpas are surprisingly capable of holding different perspectives and making you realize things you wouldn't have on your own, but still only within the capacity of your exact brain to be other ways. They're still limited in most of the same ways you are, although they may help you realize ways in which you were only limiting yourself from being. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Luminesce November 14, 2025 November 14, 2025 I'm not sure what would make someone's nose belong here.. A wonderland is just what we call the usually-consistent setting you visualize you and your tulpa(s) in, it's just normal visualization although it may have more importance to your tulpa as basically their home, if desired No rules though, you could imagine yourselves in a new place every time and call it whatever you want Anyways, no one's stopping you, we're here as a resource to guide people on the subject after all Hi! (besides using it as a coping mechanism) or have any opinions on it you wish you knew?
An Ashy Individual November 14, 2025 November 14, 2025 (edited) None of the cool abilities you can get from tulpamancy actually require tulpamancy. If you just want to learn some neat things I'd actually recommend various types of mediation or just bog-standard practice much more. (For example, I can feel my pulse in my entire body whenever I want and manually control my body temperature a bit, both of which I learned due to being bored for a while.) As for recommending tulpamancy to my past self... I'm not sure. I think I'd have told my past self to wait a while until I got more free time and energy and to then start doing it. It's a massive commitment, but a worthwhile one if you do it right. The one thing I wish I knew is that your headmates can (and probably will) have different limits, deal-breakers, and fears than you. Sounds kind of obvious, I know, but it's something I really needed to adjust to. Edited November 14, 2025 by An Ashy Individual

Can they even see via my eyes or is that like a separate thing you can make them do? Edited November 14, 2025 by placeholder321
Luminesce November 14, 2025 November 14, 2025 No one in my system is particularly scared of anything They'll probably be pretty close to how you initially imagine them, though they will grow as people over time like you yourself do And considering I've spent the last 11 years active on this site, I think I might appreciate tulpamancy, lol I recommend it to anyone it sounds good to, I don't recommend it to people with schizophrenia/etc., or who expect superpowers But those are just recommendations-or-not, you decide for yourself if having an internal life companion sounds like something you want in your life Hi! The easiest thing to notice for us is how my headmate gets embarrassed way more easily than me from talking about various random topics. She's also a more anxious person than me.
