We joined this forum nearly 8 years ago after 10 years of not being on any social media of any kind aside from the occasional question to random forums, the last place before that was Facebook in 2008 and even that wasn't for anything but sharing pictures with irl friends. Bear went through college without it, imagine no social media. Well we decided that it was time again, and soon, while we wait out what happens with anonymous browsing and social media liabilities, but still, it's best to just let go. Giving Bear an account on any platform with his real information tied to it is not going to happen.

We contemplated for months whether to say goodbye longform like this or not, no one does this, and so why us? Well, because we figured we wanted to say one last thanks to users like @Miri and @Luminesce especially Lucilyn and Tewi, and there are so many others, the majority of whom we haven't seen here for years. We grew up here in a way, and though we were somewhat happy prior to coming here, this place in particular did us a lot of good. Of course there was a bit of bad blood we caused, but we also helped a lot of people, Lumi can say whether there was a net positive there we think so.

We tried this sort of thing on Reddit but that post was removed immediately, apparently it's off topic to say goodbye.

Also a special thanks to @Pleeb for maintaining this site for so many years, we've used it sparingly in the last five but it was still appreciated.

Our plan is to go completely dark soon, who knows for how long, but we need to. The last place we left was the last place we joined, X(Twitter) and that turned out to be even worse than Reddit, horrible engagement, and we only went there to replace the r/memes but just like r/memes 99.99% of memes on X are political outrage bait anyway. As far as politics, we'd rather not.

For how long? Well that's a good question. Personal privacy has been dead for years now, it's pretty obvious that anyone with enough resources, especially given AI, can piece together everything you've posted online so it's high time to stop that until something changes for the better legally. Not that we're burning every forum we've ever been on, a stray VW forum we visited in 2012 for instance, who cares, we have a hundred passwords to various places where we posted a few questions and got a few answers etc.

This place in particular is somewhat innocuous you could argue but the wrong sort of counselor could draw the wrong sort of conclusions easily. This particular practice is somewhat esoteric and ungrounded but can be very well grounded especially in the context of actors and writers who genuinely love their characters. There's a lot of parallels there and with Jungian archetypes and dialogue as well to help work out problems. That alone was priceless in helping with general exposure and regression therapy but the characters could stay and enhance life. Overall we've never felt lonely since we started this practice which is another great thing.

So, we're not sad to leave and no one should be sad (some will be happy surely) because we're leaving on a high note in our opinion anyway and we've not been much of a presence here in a long time, we just don't plan on coming back and we thought we would give, anyone who wants to, a chance to say goodbye. We'll respond to everyone, though we doubt we'll get more than a Lumi to post here, and especially him and his head friends we'd like to say a formal goodbye to.

You can also tell us off if you want but it's not our intent to stir up drama. All that's water under the bridge, we saw how Mon responded recently to a somewhat negative response, "..." that was awesome.

Well, if there's nothing else, then after we give it some time to get responses if anyone wants to, we'll ask that this account be deleted and it's our last one and then *poof* back to the undying lands to live out the rest of our lives in peace without political memes and concentrate on irl relationships and obligations as it always should have been.
