TIN TIN December 20, 2012 December 20, 2012 So a week ago I started trying to develop a loose outline to follow to make my tulpa, and just looking up a bunch of guides and such. Well yesterday I decided to finally go ahead and start working with her with just a quick 30 minute introductory session. Just introducing myself, going over goals, plans, and touching a little on personality. All went fine and dandy and I feel it did help me with making her feel sentient. However all throughout today my mind feels like its all over the place. Non-stop thoughts are just randomly entering my head mostly involving her. I'm not really use to this sort of thing so I'm not really sure what to make of it. Any thoughts/advice? Also my mind is having a weird time trying to give something sentient a personality. I want to spend a little bit of time working on it, but at the same time it feels weird to say "I want you to have these set of traits." I'm sure there is a better way to go about it but can't think of a way at the moment. Suggestions?

As for the personality conflicts, just try asking her(?) what she likes and tell what you like, and it'll basically sort itself out. Basically, you can do this any way you want and give it as much structure as you want. In other words, have fun.

waffles December 20, 2012 December 20, 2012 There's not much to make of that really. Enjoy it, use suggestions from it, ignore it, it doesn't really matter. You don't have to do personality if you don't want to. Even if you do it, you don't have to go into much - or any - depth about it if you don't want.
CyberD December 20, 2012 December 20, 2012 I wouldn't worry too much about your mind being all over the place for just one day. If you find that you can't focus after a week or so then you might have more of a problem. For now though just enjoy it, having your tulpa on your mind all the time will make progress faster. Personality is tricky but you don't have to approach it with a list of traits just because one guide said so. Try treating your tulpa like you would a person you just met. Figure out it's personality by being around it and by asking it questions. Whatever you do decide I hope it goes well for you. Be consistent.

Well there's not too much I can do about it so I plan to and I'm not really going for much structure, just a few traits I'd like her her to have is all. If you're working on personality, then surely, you have not considered all the ways possible. A reminder, and a suggestion. I have considered it actually, when reading through a lot of the guides of course yours popped up but personally its not really how I want to go about creating my tulpa. However bits and pieces I'm sure I can find useful. There's not much to make of that really. Enjoy it, use suggestions from it, ignore it, it doesn't really matter. You don't have to do personality if you don't want to. Even if you do it, you don't have to go into much - or any - depth about it if you don't want. Like I said earlier, I don't plan on going that in-depth with it. It just feels weird to try to force even a small amount of traits onto her. Yeah it's calmed down a little bit today so I'm sure it'll pass and thanks! We'll be working together on it so I'm sure given time we'll figure it out.
