oowarrior May 26, 2013 May 26, 2013 Ok. So. I was watching Star Trek and was really admiring Mr. Spock and his logic and had an interesting idea. What if somebody made a servitor that dealt with logic. I mean it's sole purpose is to analyze things in your life and give you guidance on what is and is not logical. For example here is a hypothetical scenario... Just say I am about to go to the gym and decided to take a shower before. The servitor jumps in and says, "Taking a shower before the gym is illogical, seeing that you will get dirty and sweaty at the gym, thus negating the effects of the shower." Something like that. The reason I think that it has to be a servitor is you don't want it to deviate and develop a personality. I don't want it to have an opinion just pure logic. Hell, it can even have Mr. Spock as it's form. I'm thinking about doing this after my first Tulpa, Caleb, is done. It will be a while. Has anyone tried this before, or is there another thread discussing this? Any thoughts? ~Tulpa~ Name ---------> Caleb Sex ----------> Male Form ---------> Human Stage --------> Personality
DJ Deadlock May 26, 2013 May 26, 2013 So what you're suggesting is making a servitor to serve as sort of a conscience to tell you what to do? It could be interesting, but I think that's basically personifying common sense. Call me Gabi. Tulpamancer since February 16th, 2013. reddeadrebel on the IRC. Call me 16-Volte. And since it would be a servitor I could shut it off modify it, whatever I want. If I have an important decision to make I could invoke it. It could allow me to see the world through a logical filter without becoming a robot myself. ~Tulpa~ Name ---------> Caleb Sex ----------> Male Form ---------> Human Stage --------> Personality

It would be fine for stuff like the gym example, but that would be just common sense without the need of a servitor, but for more complex things were you would need help, I don't know if you can give him that much thinking ability without giving him sentience.

Consider this. If I gave him/her sentience it would want to spend time with me. It would probably not like being treated like a computer. I don't want to have conversations with it unless it pertains to logic. I don't want unnecessary commentary. Meeting these criteria would result in a harsh life for a Tulpa. Also, deviation could be a huge problem. It would probably feel like a slave and would want to develop it's own personality. You don't want to have conversations with a thermometer do you? I would give it no love. I think it could handle the complex computations. ~Tulpa~ Name ---------> Caleb Sex ----------> Male Form ---------> Human Stage --------> Personality
DJ Deadlock May 26, 2013 May 26, 2013 I think what noobdreamer is trying to say is that a servitor wouldn't be capable of such things, and that for the simpler things you really only need your common sense. It would be a neat idea if it could work well. Call me Gabi. Tulpamancer since February 16th, 2013. reddeadrebel on the IRC. Call me 16-Volte. I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride! oowarrior May 26, 2013 Author May 26, 2013 I think the gym/shower thing was a bad example. Just say I'm about to make an emotional decision. The servitor could step in and remind me of the logics behind the choices. You could call it common sense on steroids. Common sense isn't that common. Just as people aspire for their tulpas to aid them in memory recall, my servitor would give me powerful logic ( or a super common sense, one which is not influence by emotion, since it originates from the servitor ) ~Tulpa~ Name ---------> Caleb Sex ----------> Male Form ---------> Human Stage --------> Personality
DJ Deadlock May 26, 2013 May 26, 2013 Yeah, I'm not exactly sure a servitor is capable of such powerful logic. If it was that easy, I think everybody would have a spock to give them logical direction. Call me Gabi. Tulpamancer since February 16th, 2013. reddeadrebel on the IRC. Call me 16-Volte. Guest Anonymous May 26, 2013 May 26, 2013 How about making a servitor that detects when you are about to make a decision and shuts emotions down accordingly?

That could be an interesting feature for the Servitor. Let it drain all emotion from your mind. It is possible for the servitor to handle the computations because it has access to my mind and can use aspects of my mind to compute. We all have that little voice inside our heads that tells us a decision is bad. Well, the servitor will amplify this effect. ~Tulpa~ Name ---------> Caleb Sex ----------> Male Form ---------> Human Stage --------> Personality
